You are incorrect. 1901 is the beginning of the 20th century. We began at 1 not 0 so the beginning of the century begins at '01 not at '00.

There probably aren't. These people who claim to be that old usually live in countries like Kazachstan, where they didn't even count their ages a hundred years ago. So when someone claims to be that old, she could easily be 30 years off. Also, the chances of becoming that old in these countries are very low.

When Dionysius Exiguus came up with the counting system for millennia  in the 6th century he used roman numerals  so there wasn't a year zero so 1900 is the last year of the 19th century , and  the beginning of the 20th century was the date  chosen for Australia  to become a sovereign nation and that was Jan 1st 1901'

Where the confusion comes in is the Millennium being celebrated  in 2000 and that was really because of prince , public misconception and governments taking the easy way out , but mainly prince.

What with nuclear weapons becoming more widespread with even small nations getting them politically the world looks less stable with a massive future war more likely but on the other side improvements in drugs making lifespans longer in the future. It's hard to predict how long we will live in future. We could all be dead in 5 years or maybe the average lifespan will reach 150 you never know. The way we are consuming resources and damaging the environment is another factor. Struggling to breath and high levels of pollutants isn't going to help us live longer for sure. So many factors are in play and lifespans could actually decrease in the future not improve.
