Some of these posts in here are laughable. Honestly we are talking about multi-billion dollar business with huge investments into there divisions. Xbox 1 even though a lot seem to and want to complain about it, cannot ignore the fact the console is a success story regardless how far behind it is compared to its main competitor. It is generating MS money, its Live members alone is extremely profitable, there big 1st party games are profiting (Despite gamers saying Halo 5 flopped selling 5+m Units) How about we wait and see what Xbox brings to the table at 2018 E3 before jumping on the hate band wagon. Most cases with new Hardware releases it takes majority of the spotlight and we can all agree on that now the X has finally released, that gives MS the chance to now move its focus to its Software. Switch started out with a lack of games and still does yet look at it. Hardware is out the way and expect bigger things from Nintendo despite Zelda and Mario already released.
XB1 2018 Sea of Thieves Ori Will of the Wisp State of Decay 2 Crackdown 3 Halo (Game) Forza (Game) Playgrounds next Game Remedy next Game Coalition next Game Rares next Game A bunch of promising Indy games A bunch of more supported BC games A bunch of AAA 3rd party games (Timed and Exclusive) And the possibility of E3 surprise announcements and brought/New/Old IPs. Wait and see, no point complaining about it in a forum, MS cant hear you here.

Yes, especially the posts by people who apperantly are MS shareholders. Why should a gamer care for how much more an IP is that would have existed 1:1 if MS wouldnt have aquired it? Why would a gamer care for the sales figures of some mediocre shooter of a game franchise that has become stale? Why would i care for (live) numbers if it doesnt benefit this favorite hobby of mine? Why should a buncha old, already existing games be imperative? Nothing new, nothing exotic, nothing out of reach. In the contrary, Microsoft being successful relative to the cheap effort, relying on efforts of others than on their own merrits is rather detrimental.
Anybody can clobber up some hardware. Even me. I just visit some hardware website order a superawsome rig with such n such gigs n rams n bites. See, thats how easy it is. Yes, im fully aware there is alittle more to designing a console. But there is a whole lot more work involved when producing a videogame, even more when developing a good game, and even more when creating great games, even more so if you want a great game to surpass all others and set standards.
A new hardware generation should represent the spotlight for a new generation of games. However, with the need to stay competitive, but not having the big guns as the competition has, the only way is to... Shovel games... on to the platform. BC, early access, EA access, open the floodgates. No, more doesnt automatically equal better. We see this with Steam, and this is exactly what MS aims for on the console level. Not quality, but merely quantity PR. And thats certainly not something i support. I value my hobby and dont treat it like five dollar hooker.

Especially most people don't have the money or time to buy all or play all these games.

Exactly. There are enough unspecial and mediocre games. No need to praise MS for putting more litter on the already huge pile of grey averagness.
