Other than Attack on Titan 2, not a damn thing. I hate to sound like a hipster but anime nowadays is really fucking shit. They keep adapting garbage while mangas worthy of adaption just rot off to the side. Even season 2 of Attack on Titan was reduced to 12 episodes despite it being one of the most poplar modern anime, on par with classics like Death Note and Code Geass.

Not much. Probably around 20. I'll make a list soon.

Surprising comment considering you have an Ao no Exorcist avatar, which had a new season this year.

Anyways, I’m of the opposite mind. There might not be anything this year to make my top 10, but in terms of variety, this has year been one of the best at keeping my interest in a long time. This last season alone was a gold mine.

I’m too lazy to post my whole list, but I’ve probably watched 30 or so simulcasts and 10 backlog shows. Highlights from the former include My Hero Academia, Sangatsu no Lion, and Shokugeki no Souma, the latter including Usagi Drop, Pet Girl of Sakurasou, and OreImo. Also watched Your Name, which was amazing.

I may have forgotten some, but here we go.

Centaur no Nayami

Houseki no Kuni

Inferno Cop

Juuni Taisen

Asagao no Kase-san

Konohana Kitan

Little Witch Academia

Love Live Sunshine Season 2

Natsume Yuujinchou Roku

Princess Principal

Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou

Vivid Strike!

Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru: Washio Sumi no Shou

And Shoujo Kakumei Utena + its movie Adolescence of Utena, which are now my all time favorite anime.

Good year, pretty gay, 2018 looking promising on that front as well.

I read the Ao no Exorist manga. Though I was planning to watch the new season regardless. Then again i'm not sure I really want to considering how the last season ended.

I remember back in 2011 where 4 heavy hitters dropped in one year (HxH, Fate Zero, Madoka Magica and Steins;Gate). You'll never find that nowadays.

Funny, I just wanted to make that post in the Anime thread. I haven't counted yet but this year is most likely going to be the lowest year since I started watching anime.

Let's see:

According to MAL if I count the 10 animes I have started but not finished yet I'm at 47. Which is actually quite shocking considering not too long ago I was averaging about 100 a year. I had to drop a lot of good shows this time due to time constraints. Overall it was an absolutely great year which brought TWO! 10 rated shows and a good amount of 9s.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Animes I have finished completely:

- 5 Centimeters per Second (Movie)
- Beyond the Boundary
- Clannad + Clannad After Story
- Fate stay/night Unlimited Bladeworks
- Gate (at least all episodes available with Ger Dub)
- Invaders of the Rokujyoma!?
- Kämpfer
- Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
- K-On (first season only)
- Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions (both seasons)
- Nisekoi (both seasons)
- Oh My Goddess
- One week friends
- Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo
- Sekirei (both seasons)
- Strike the Blood (at least all episodes available with Ger Dub)
- Suki tte li na yo
- The garden of Words (movie)
- The girl who lept through time (movie)
- The irregular at magic high school
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
- To Love-Ru: Trouble
- Toradora (at least all episodes available with Ger Dub)
- Waiting in the summer
- Yosuga no Sora

I am pretty sure I have forgot about up to 5 more animes.

Animes I have started and finished >50%, but I will not finish them anymore:
- K-On Season 2
- Maid-Sama

And then there were at least 10 other animes which I had started and watched something like 1-3 episodes but did not liked them.

Considering I basically only started watching in something like oktober, it had been quite a lot.
Most of them even were only within the last 5-6 weels as I had bought 1 month of streaming on anime-on-demand and watched some of them on watchbox or (1 month free trial) netflix.
I had not bought too much anime on Bluray recently.

In january 2018 I am going to watch:
- Shigatsu Wa Kimi No Uso
- Your Name (in cinema)

And then lets see what happens. :)

I strongly prefer Ger dub to Ger sub. I dont like reading the subs all the time. Thats why I basically only had watched like older ones. Many animes getting they Ger dubbing many many years after their original release in japan. On the other hand I basically started watching animes at all only like 2 years ago^^

Anime (In watched order):

- Cardcaptor Sakura (Great)

- Gintama. (Great)

- Nichijou (Amazing)

- Zero Kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho (Had potential but it was painfully average)

- Kyoukai no Rinne season 3 (Also pretty average)

- Ushio to Tora (Best anime I've seen this year)

- The Vision of Escaflowne (Felt a bit slow at times, but still pretty good)

Movies:

- Murder on the Orient Express (Yes, I literally only watched a single movie in the theater in the entire year. I liked it, btw).

Series:

- Futurama (Wanted to watch the whole thing since I've never done it before, so I did!).

Will update if I remember anything else.

Umm... I watched the first two seasons of Sword Art: Online for the first time earlier this year, started off promising then got really shit, then VERY creepy, apparently the third season is actually good though, and I should erase all memory of the second season, lol.

... Does the Brotherhood anime count from Final Fantasy XV? If so let's add that too, lol.

I also watched the first season of Bleach for some reason, it was on Netflix and I was bored, wanted to see what it was all about... honestly, think it seems a bit overrated, or maybe the anime just starts off bad, I don't know.

That's about it. I want to watch the Tokyo Ghoul anime to see how it stacks up against the manga, but I'm still reading the manga anyway, think I'll wait until I've finished it before I watch the anime. I also want to start watching One Piece because it looks like something I'd enjoy, but I was turned off when I saw how many episodes there are so I'd need a LOT of time to catch up, and apparently there's a FUCK TON of filler episodes, and not all the episodes are dubbed in English or something, can't remember if that last part is 100% true or not, but meh.

One Piece dub will be up to 563 in March, and I feel like if you think 800 is a lot then 563 is still a lot so by the time you catch up there will be a lot more dubbed episodes out again. As for filler, you can choose to skip them with filler guides like I do :).

My list will follow shortly.

Its worth it.

I started One piece again back in 2012 or so when it was around 600 or 700 episodes or so - watched them all including the filler episodes - I felt One Piece had a lot of great filler episodes compared to other anime.

I tried to watch filler for Naruto but couldnt get into it but the filler for OP was great.

I'm up to date now - took me about 6 months to catch up on OP.
