Obviously their estimation of the shipped numbers.
It has to be shipped. If Nintendo is doing 15M before their first full year the Switch has an amazing life ahead of it. Can't wait to see that investors meeting.
Nintendo would’ve literally had to sell 5 million consoles in the last 2 1/2 weeks. I guess it’s not impossible, but I don’t think Nintendo has produced nearly enough to achieve that.
All I'll say about this is that my local Target had at least 20 units in the display area. I was worried about how they were going to move all those units. The only consoles left in those cages now are XBoxOnes. Can't remember the sku for the XBox. Point being, certainly in my area the Switch momentum is continuing and there was enough stock to take advantage of that demand...well more than I ever saw being avaiable for the Wii. Seems 2017 was the year that Nintendo learned from their previous mistakes in marketing, stocking, and quality title production. Here's to a continued maturity from the underachieving console maker.
If they said switch only sold 10 million units, the nintendo fans will immediately say fake and bring out nintendos announcement of 10 million sold in 9 months. Now they would rather believe usa today instead of nintendo

Didn't the apple watch series 3 come out this year? That might of been why. |
Did you guys not read the source? It says nothing about "new tech". The Echo Dot is there. The latest iteration of the echo dot released in 2016. It says iPhone sold 223 million. Sure, it might have, but not if you only count iPhone 8, 8+ and X.
Only person to say new tech is the OP. Exactly why OP did that, I'm not sure.

Everyone pretty much agrees that it is 15 million shipped and not sold, stop fabricating

I doubt it's shipped either. The Switch's supply has been tight all year, if it's 15 million shipped, then it's basically 15 million sold as well (maybe 14.5 million).
More likely, I think that GBH are just making an estimate.
Also guys, the 10 million sold through announcement was as of december 10th.
