Yeah, I've been giving that some thought too. My list was Avengers, Civil War, Dr. Strange, both Guardians, and obviously Ragnarok. I guess Age of Ultron would be important because of Wanda and Vision, but eh, you can get a feeling for who they are in Civil War already. And Iron Man? Just because of Pepper, I guess? I mean of course, you'd need to watch Iron Man to fully grasp the character's motivations or whatever, but if you're going by that it could apply to every solo movie.

Second Guardians is just filler, it doesn't matter.

Ironman only because it was the first, to understand the character, world and SHIELD.

Hmm, pie.

There is one snag to the entire thing though, you can't watch it without seeing all some of the films before it. so a new goer who isn't that into the series will not understand a lot. Me and my friends came up with the 7 films you need to see to see this.

Iron Man, Avengers 1 and 2, Civil War, Dr Strange and Gaurdians 1 and maybe Thor 3. That's it really.

The correct (and OCD-driven) answer is to watch all eighteen films before seeing Infinity War. There are no shortcuts. Everything is important! Well, maybe not Ant-Man. 😉

The movies seemingly blanked out the Hulk movie as Ross seems to forget in his Civil War rant how he let loose a monster on New York a few years prior...

I actually take a lot of issue with that rant. New York and DC had little to do with the Avengers and everything to do with SHIELD (and HYDRA). If anything it’s those experiences that fuel Cap’s issue with the accords. He trusted oversight before and then got blamed for fixing their mistakes. On the Ross front, you could argue his own sins drove him toward taking a more active role in trying to curtail the collateral damage. But like you say, he’s blaming the wrong target

It's a strange feeling, though. Probably not too good.

Are you not feeling so good,Mr.mZuzek?

P.S. sorry, couldn't help myself

I thought of something cool we could do to really wrap up this thread. That is, looking back through all these movies and talking about some of our favorite, most memorable moments - those that really hit us, that will really stay with us forever.

This is a great idea.  Here are some moments off the top of my head.  (Also tons of SPOILERS.)

Iron Man
At the beginning of the movie, Tony Stark dives for cover only to get blown up by a bomb with his name on it.  So much is said in this one moment.  1) It's a memorable hook and a great way to start a film.  2) It's a commentary on weapon's makers.  (Profiting off of war can come back to bite you in the butt.)  3) Most importantly I now see this moment as kicking off the whole MCU.  It's a great intro to a film that itself is a great into to a whole universe.

Captain America - The First Avenger
The scene where scrawny Steve Rogers dives on a grenade.  This is another of these "so much is said at once" scenes.  Steve Rogers is already a hero on the inside, but he just doesn't have the power yet for anyone else to see it.  Also the Colonel (Tommy Lee Jones) replies with, "he's still skinny".  It's a funny line, but it's a character driven line at the same time.  He's saving face, because he was just proven wrong.  It's a great scene all around.  (For me, this is basically tied with the ending scene with Cap flying the plane that mZuzek already mentioned.)

Captain America - Winter Soldier
"You're my mission."  "Then finish it... cause I'm with you till the end of the line."  Cap can't really defeat Bucky and also he doesn't want to.  Instead he just surrenders, and ironically he wins Bucky back.  So much truth in this moment, and it's a much better climax than the conventional "beat up the bad guy" that we're used to.  (This scene was already mentioned by mZuzek, but it bears repeating.)

Guardians of the Galaxy
"Peter take my hand."  Peter's had to be self-reliant his whole life.  Now that he's grabbed an Infinity Stone, he can't contain the power alone.  He grabs Gamora's hand, but he sees it as his mother's hand at the same time.  Ironically, while saving the planet he also finds personal redemption.  He makes up for not grabbing his mother's hand by holding on to the other Guardians, the family that he's always wanted but never had.  This is another one of those "so much is said at once" scenes.  (I know I keep saying that, but those are the type of scenes that I like.)

Captain America - Civil War
The airport scene.  Yeah, it's a big dumb fight.  But this also happened to be every geeky comic book fantasy I'd ever had come to life on the big screen.  I have to mention it!  However I also want to mention a second scene.

Captain America - Civil War
"Did you know?"  "Yes."  Gotta say that I did not see this ending coming when I first watched Civil War.  The film makers really had me think Cap and Iron Man were going to team up to defeat 5 super soldiers.  Not only does Bucky kill Tony's parents but it becomes even more shocking that Cap actually knew what happened.  (Although he didn't know it was Bucky that did it.)  Turns out that if you go back and watch Winter Soldier there is a scene where the Zola computer reveals to Cap that Hydra was behind the death of Howard Stark.  Cap really did know!

Dr. Strange
"Dormammu, I've come to bargain."  Not only is this a great ending to the film, but it's 100% true to the Dr. Strange character.  In the comics, Dr Strange is always using tricks to defeat beings far more powerful than himself.  I felt the whole movie was awesome simply because I got to see Dr Strange come to life on the big screen.  However this ending is the epitome of that, and it's just a damn great ending period.

Spider-Man Homecoming
The Vulture answers the door, and then the car ride after that.  This is another moment that I didn't see coming, but it also is 100% true to the Spider-Man series.  Spider-Man often has close personal ties to his villains (see also: green goblin, lizard, venom, etc...), so it totally fits to have the Vulture be his date's dad.  Tom Holland is great here at playing up the tension.  I feel the same tension that Spider-Man feels.  Michael Keaton is just awesome!  He's my favorite MCU villain.  He's totally believable as a person we have all met.  He's just doing all this for his family, but at the same time we know he'd kill someone to protect them or his business.  We feel that in this scene more than any other.

Thor: Ragnarok
Flashback with all of the valkyries getting killed by Hela.  This scene is like a classic painting come to life.  It's just so beautiful and sad to look at.  Thor: Ragnarok was both a very fun and funny film, but sometimes they killed their emotional scenes but injecting humor in the wrong place.  Thankfully, this flashback scene is all visual, so we get to enjoy the pure beauty of it.

Black Panther
The first waterfall scene.  It's a great fight scene over the throne of Wakanda, and when I first saw it I really didn't know who would win.  I also love the African vibe of the whole thing including the spectators and different tribes and waterfall setting and everything.  This scene, more than any other, really made me feel I was transported to Wakanda.

SPOILER WARNING (AGAIN)

Avengers: Infinity War
Spider-Man disappears.  Tom Holland again really gives us the feeling of someone dying before their time, while Iron Man has to see this kid he's protecting go far too early in his life.  It's also a callback to Avengers 2, where Tony gets a vision of seeing all of the Avengers dead and Cap says, "You could have saved us."  Now Tony's worst nightmare has come to life, and he loses the person he's been trying to protect the most.

Anyway these are the moments that stuck with me the most.  Honorable mention goes to Heimdall, who is awesome in every scene he is in, but I like this dialogue from Thor: The Dark World
"You called me here on an urgent matter.  What is it?"
"Treason, my lord."
"Whose?"
"Mine."

Great idea!

My issue is that for some of these movies it will be tough to pick just one, and for others it will be hard to FIND just one.

I'll go by my rankings...

1) Captain America: Civil War

The airport battle - this is just an orgasmic fight scene, with some great action choreography, clear photography (you never get lost amid the explosions and foot chases), witty banter, and some interesting character moments (Nat letting Cap and Bucky go; Vision's shot going astray as a symbol for his deep focus on Wanda; Tony chiding Cap; Scott just happy to be there; T'Challa blinded by revenge)

2) Captain America: The Winter Soldier

*Gonna go with a surprise pick here: "Captain's orders." Not specifically Steve's broadcast to the SHIELD faithful in the final act, but Cameron Klein's reaction to them. When Rumlow insists Klein send the Helicarriers airborne, he says "I'm not gonna launch those ships...Captain's orders." It's a incredibly tense scene but also a meaningful one. It's a small, helpless man taking a stand, even if it will kill him. It also demonstrates how many people still show faith in Cap

3) Iron Man

"Yeah, I can fly." The best parts of Iron Man are the building/training scenes, either in Afghanistan or California, but this one is particularly good. We see Tony make a huge step forward with his invention, we get some laughs courtesy of Jarvis, and we witness another step on the hero's journey.

4) Guardians of the Galaxy

Easy. "We are Groot." There's one reason I ranked Guardians ahead of The Avengers and it's this scene. This makes me tear up every time. It symbolizes the hard-won friendship among this rag-tag group, and how death isn't such a bad thing when you finally have something worth dying for.

5) The Avengers

Another hard one, but I think I have to go with the bromance between Tony and Bruce. Their scenes in the lab on the helicarrier just sparkle. Tony feels at home with a fellow genius, and Bruce starts to open up.

6) Avengers: Infinity War

Infinity War is unfortunately short on great scenes, although its individual moments are pretty darn good. I'll go with Peter "killing" Gamora on Nowhere. This is a hard sequence to watch, with Gamora articulating her feelings for Peter (finally), Peter willing to kill the love of his life to fulfill his promise, and Thanos, in a fatherly gesture, approving of his daughter's boyfriend. Lot going on there.

7) Spider-Man: Homecoming

Gotta go with the car ride to homecoming. Keaton is a master in this scene. It's goofy, it's funny, it's scary as hell, and it sets up Peter's fateful choice.

8) Thor: Ragnarok

My favorite moment in Ragnarok should have been the final line in the movie. Damn you, Taika Waititi! "I'm here." This is such a nice bookend to the dramatic, often antagonistic relationship between brothers. It's a line rich in subtext, and I just love it.

9) Iron Man 3

Iron Man 3 is especially good for all its reversals and subverted expectations, so I will go with Tony breaking into a mansion sans suit. It's good action, yes, but it shows how clever, crafty, and confident Tony is outside of his armor.

10) Black Panther

Uhhhh. Maybe the first scene in Oakland?

11) Captain America

"I had a date." Jesus, what a gut punch. Evans slays this scene. We see Cap realize that decades have flown by and the world as he knew it is long gone, and then...he remembers Peggy. This is the best final line in the MCU.

12) The Incredible Hulk

The scene in the motel where Betty is cutting Bruce's hair, and then he gets too "excited." This is a really nice, understated scene. We see the intimacy, we see how these two former lovers have missed each others, and we see (frustratingly) how Bruce's condition makes him unable to be with Betty physically.

13) Avengers: Age of Ultron

Party scene, all the way. This really plays to Whedon's strengths as a writer/director. Lots of fun banter and good character writing, and the hammer sequence is a riot.

14) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Another easy one. The ravager funeral. Visually fascinating and emotionally powerful.

15) Doctor Strange

Dormammu. All these superhero movies end with blue sky lasers and hordes of disposable monsters. This was a intelligent and different way to reach a conclusion.

16) Ant-Man

Thomas the Tank Engine battle. Ant-Man is best when it's playing with Scott's tiny dimensions. This is a slick way to stage an action scene.

17) Iron Man 2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sypG5KoKbDY

18) Thor

Oh lord. Um, probably the drinking contest. Selwig is very protective and fatherly here, and there's some good old-fashioned male bonding going on too.

19) Thor: The Dark World

Let's see. I guess the scene on the magic gondola with Thor and Loki. "I wish I could trust you." Which, again, would make "I'm here" all the better as a final line in Ragnarok. Damn you, Taika Waititi!

Thanks for doing this for me. I wanted to talk about it, but felt it was overkill at that point with all the GotG.

Also, yeah Vek the whole "Captain's orders" sequence in Winter Soldier was amazing. Would have definitely been my pick had "you're my mission" not been a thing. Quill trying to shoot Gamora in Infinity War was great too, loads of emotion there - Zoe Saldana and Chris Pratt always deliver, but they were on another level in this film.

Well now that I've seen all 19 films, I've gotta say that "Peter take my hand" is my favorite moment in the MCU.  It really feels like every single scene in the movie leads up to that one point.  Peter's mom, the Power Stone, and of course the Guardian's relationship, it all builds up to that one moment.  That is just great storytelling.  That is what the climax of a movie should be, every single thread comes together at the peak and it really all just hits you at once.  So if I had to pick one moment, this would be it.  (The ending to Winter Soldier would be a close second though.)
