I really wanna rewatch Iron Man 3. I think people gave that movie way too much shit for not being comic accurate. It had it's flaws but it was still one of the most unique movies of the MCU.

Count me in! I'm a big MCU fan, and I was planning to watch every movie before Infinity War, so this is a perfect chance to do that and talk about it. Normally I watch the MCU films chronologically (with the TV shows in between). Is it up to discussion to change the order?

Nice!

What order would you prefer?

Yeah me too actually. I got a little hung up on the twist but I want to be open-minded during the rewatch. Movies don’t need to treat the comics as holy texts.

The Mandarin plot twist was fucking ace. I don't really care about comic fidelity, but it truly, truly worked as a movie and managed to surprise Iron Man comic fans. But I think it received a lot of backslash because of that.

About the order I normally watch the MCU movies:

1. Captain America: The First Avenger
2. Iron Man
3. Iron Man 2
4. The Incredible Hulk
5. Thor
6. Avengers
7. Iron Man 3
8. Thor: The Dark World
9. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
10. Guardians of the Galaxy
11. Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2
12. Avengers: Age of Ultron
13. Ant-Man
14. Captain America: Civil War
15. Doctor Strange
16. Spider-man: Homecoming
17. Thor: Ragnarok

This is basically the chronological order based on some MCU forums I've checked and references to previous movies. It works. I mean, it's not a huge deal to watch them in the release order, but two GotG movies on the row is always good xD.

I’m for sticking with release date order, but if you feel strongly about this order you can totally follow it! There’s probably going to be some overlapping conversation anyway.

Nah, it's more like a habit, the movies make perfectly sense in release date order. I do this normally if I stick into them the TV shows like Agents of SHIELD, which follows heavily the MCU, but it's not an issue for me. I thought it was interesting to see how people feel about chronological/release order though.

Well, I'm glad you're onboard :)

It will be interesting to see how we score the MCU flicks, since we seem to have similar taste in movies

Agreed, I think it's nearly as good as the first one to be honest, and way better than the mess that was Iron Man 2. I don't care about how comic-accurate it is, though I do accept that the villain could have been handled better and there was quite a bit of nonsense in the ending. I really liked the more personal feeling though, and the notion that all the crap Tony Stark had built falls apart and he just sort of has to take care of himself truly on his own. His character was concluded in quite a good way in that movie, it's a shame it had to go on for as long as it has.

Edit: oh and by the way guys, can I ask for no Ragnarok spoilers on this thread? I haven't seen it and now I'm unsure if I just watch it as soon as I can or if I wait until the date everyone else will.

Release order works for me as well. Obviously Black Panther screws us somewhat. If Disney moves the home video release date up and we have enough time, we might be able to change the schedule although I assume some people will want to see it as soon as possible regardless.

As for spoilers, unfortunately there’s not much we can do to control everyone. I’m hoping the conversation will flow more or less naturally down the schedule. I personally will try to avoid any spoilers for “future” films in the schedule. But each person will more or less have to decide on their own how much to discuss other films

Yeah, this will be interesting! Although I'm a MCU fanboy so the scores will be OTT and not in league with pretty much anyone. I can't help it! XD.

I think I watched 5 of those. I don't think it's worth rewatching them.
