Love this post too. Luke needed 3 movies to become a full powerful Jedi. He was actually a very flawed and crappy Jedi on first and second movie. The scene on the SECOND movie where he cannot move properly a crappy small rock shows it perfectly. He was capable of doing what he did because of the small knowledge he had of force and because of his friends. He just becomes a proper Jedi on the third movie. I love how on Return of the Jedi you see him powerful right on the start. You sense the evolution like "wow luke got really powerfull with time". Same with Anakin.

But Rey... well she becomes a full powerful Jedi in 5 minutes...

Can you even call Rey a Jedi?

I didn't see her care about being a Jedi at all. She wanted to know about the force, when she actually asked luke after wasting his time for like 20 minutes. She didn't even try the read their books or anything else.

Luke seemed excited about being a Jedi from the start. It was clearly a higher calling to him. I didn't see that at all from Rey.

Can you really be a Jedi with one training session from a Jedi Master? If so, then why wouldn't Kylo be a Jedi now...

Well the movie calls her a Jedi so what can we do? But not for me... For me to become a Jedi takes time, its wanting to be part of it, to be called a Jedi a follow a path. It demands to have a master and have a trainning. I think the part of the movie with her and Luke could have been so much better. Its poorly written, porly executed. We could have a good amount of good drama there, on how luke decided to move away, and after how he could train her to achieve her potential. But well, its wasnt necessary. She already knew everything and he was just there making jokes and drinking milk.

There is no problem in breaking new grounds, putting new elements and moving forward to a new generation, but I dislike when it does not respect already stablished rules in the series.

I don't know. With all the other messages they had so on the nose, it wouldn't surprise me that's the exact reason why they did it. I think they wanted a girl Jedi, which is perfectly fine, but didn't want her to have to struggle too  much. Either because they felt like girls wouldn't want to watch her suffer through those struggles or they didn't want the male Jedis to look so powerful next to a female, even though we know those males had to go through the same struggles. Whichever it is, it's insulting to the audience's intelligence, as well as women, thinking they wouldn't be interested in or couldn't handle a female protagonist who isn't perfect.

I really hate playing this card, but part of me thinks its because they would not accept having a male (Luke) teaching her everything, patronizing her and in the end being responsible for a huge part of her development. It was important to pass the message that she, as a female, could achieve everything without the help of a man. Usually I dont have this kind of thinking but judging based on what happens in the rest of the movie I feel inclined to think this way. I really hope im wrong.

God, is gonna so fun to see people changing opinions in a few years, everyday I know about more and more people that has no fucking clue why this overraction happened at all when the movie its so damn good, and I'm talking of peope that really knows about cinema as that's what they do for living.

Time will put it on its place and then I will be there to say "I fucking told you"

Also is suyrprising the level of doble moral that some fans have, like 2/3 of the "defects" they find in the new ones are already there in the original trilogy, but is like cannot fucking see them, and as a consequence there are more and more memes about it

Every day, the ratings of this movie are dropping on all website, and everyday the legs in the box office in several countries is falling.

Every day, the consensus in the audience is that film sucked. You (movie lovers) are clearly losing.

Nobody would have complained if Luke ended like Obiwan or Yoda.

- They weren't depressed and weak nor grumbling

- They actually trained Luke and were useful in the story

- They never tried to kill their nephews in their sleep

- They were not overwhelmed by powerless kid..... Obiwan defeated Anakin and Yoda fought Sidious , the most powerful sith , to a draw.  Luke was knocked out by a weak Kylo Ren and never redeemed himself.

Johnson pissed on Luke Skywalker, and that's why his movie is hated. Not only it's a very bad movie, but it's a disgusting movie, a franchise destroyer, something that left a disgusting taste in your mouth. I don't think I will watch episode 9 if they don't immediately correct the course. I will wait the true fans reactions before, for sure. It killed any anticipation.

Is called a hate bandwagoon, something that people without personality jumps in.  This movie was awesome, when time passes and people finally starts to accept the changes and the natural evolution of the saga things will change, it has happened a lot of times in cinema, I already seen this happening a bunch of times just no so exagerated, I hope you still here when that happens, is gonna fun.

Don't dream, it's childish to be so deluded. There is no hate bandwagon, it's a bad movie that angered a lot of Star Wars fans. Nothing will save it. The few scenes that were removed were even more outrageous. This director has no clue.

Time will destroy it. The only thing that this movie had was the initial professional reviews. People went in unsuspecting. They feel robbed and nothing will change that.

I know The Last Jedi is very divided when it comes to the audience, but I think it's a huge exaggeration to say that it's a franchise destroyer. I honestly wonder if people thought that way at the time the prequel trilogy was released.
