nice, just remember to take it slow at first and acclimate yourself with the likes of Ocean Decent, Danger Ball (both VR Worlds) or the various ones from the free Playroom VR (excluding the platformer Robo Rescue as it's more advanced) before you go into more demanding games

if you ever feel a bit uncomfortable (light headache, sweating, queasy) take a break and come back to it later

Cool. If you will, whats the experience of the tracking in a low light/dimly lit room? Any issues? Any setup/calibration tips?

I was thinking of setting it up in my basement on my gaming PC Desk as i have the extra monitor, a good chair and ample floorspace  for standing for the likes of the aim controller games. Its also away from the traffic so i can nerd out in peace.

low light is pretty ideal, probably better than completely dark as white walls can create reflections of the tracking lights or the TV/monitor (if nobody is watching anyway you might want to switch those off) that confuse the cam

to get as close to the "perfect calibration" as possible you might want to try this at some point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6k2uuWUlfLE but it's usually not necessary for your first experiences, just something to keep in mind once you want to play for hours

there is a setting to adjust your IPD (distance between eyes) pretty buried in the menu that you should do, here is a guide to do it "manually", as the cam does a pretty poor job: https://www.vrheads.com/how-manually-set-your-ipd-playstation-vr

other than that people say they have a better time with tracking if they just let the HMD sit on a flat surface (table/floor) for up to a minute after starting a game and tracking seems to have a small chance to go haywire if the PS4 is booted from restmode

Facebook is also investing huge amounts of money into VR games.

I wouldn't want to miss out on the PSVR exclusive games nor the PC exclusive games, I'm happy with my combination of PSVR + Oculus rift.

So far I have these VR games (loosely sorted from great to bad)

The lower part of the list are mostly from the cheap monthly "VR Steam bundles" on Indie Gala. Even if most of these indie VR games are subpar, at least one game in each bundle is surprisingly entertaining and totally worth the costs of the whole bundle.

Damn, I thought I was a heavy user of VR with a bit over 60 games!

I envy your free time to try all that :) Although I do tend to bite down in some games and play them for a long time. Averaging 2 to 3 hours of VR per day is about the norm since PSVR came out, with only a long break for BotW and HZD. Btw why did you get Bridge Crew for PSVR? Doesn't it control better on Rift? It was fine on psvr only that handle to engage warp was a bit finicky. Erm sorry the handle is sticky again, I know we're getting shot at, I'm trying to move the thingie, hold on my armrest is in the way, got to reposition.

If you like 6DOF games like Descent, try Cavernous wastes for psvr. It's a simple rogue like that had me hooked for weeks. Most addictive indie I played last year.

Is Obduction worth the wait for VR? The PSVR patch is still not ready and I'm slowly losing interest in the game.

Anyway Skyrim VR is starting to get my VR backlog to pile up. I still want to finish the Solus Project which I was playing when Skyrim launched.

It also depends on the game and how you're playing. Low ambient light is good to start with.

For playing while sitting, put the camera about 2 meters in front of you at chest level for best results, higher is also good. For some games you might want to offset it a bit left or right, for example for Skyrim VR when you use the bow a lot, place it in such a way that it doesn't see the move controller in front of the headset while aiming. Since I pull the string hand of the bow behind my right ear for full power, the camera needs to be a bit to the right of me so the move doesn't disappear behind the headset.

Farpoint works best with the camera high pointing down a bit, as well for other games where you aim through sights. If you play standing put the camera a bit further back to have more room, However the further back you put the camera the more gentle sway you get in tracking (fowards/backwards)

The system is pretty forgiving though. Somtimes I wonder why it seems a bit off, then I check and the camera is sitting on the floor in the corner since I moved the boxes around it's usually sitting on. But if you're going to play for hours, you might as well put it in the best spot so it can clearly see all the actions you do.

There's a reason why I don't have Skyrim or Fallout 4 for VR... more time for other games. I prefer shorter VR sessions and variety of gameplay, not playing the same game over 100 hours. ;)

I played Bridge Crew on PSVR in the month of its release, long before I bought the Rift. And I didn't have to buy the game then, i just rented it for a week. One of the advantages of PSVR is existence of retail versions with no account binding (for the bigger games).

I guess if I had to choose my single favorite game, it would be Arizona Sunshine with the Aim controller. So far it delivers the absolute best that I have expereinced. AAA caliber feel, huge single player campagin, great co-op survivor mode. The game shows that FPS works in VR, and it is so, so much better than playing on a TV withM&K or controller.

That said, it is really hard to call out a winner. There are so many great games already on PSVR. I can narrow down to a top ten though.

My Top Ten VR Titles So Far
1. Arizona Sunshine
2. Carnival Gamers VR
3. I Expect You To Die
4. Farpoint
5. Skyrim VR
6. Gran Turismo Sport
7. Super Hot VR
8. Batman VR
9. Job Simulator
10. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood

Even at that there are still a lot of great expereinces I have left out. RE7 was great, but I have to dock it for being a half VR title on account of using the Dual Shock 4. Star Wars Battlefront VR Mission was an absolute blast as well. Then you have stuff like the Joshua Bell VR video, Chainsmokers VR Music Video, and countless other VR/360 video expereinces across Jaunt, Within, Youtube, and other applications.

VR has been a me excited about tech again, in a way I haven't been since PS1 and N64. The possabilities of what is to come seem endless. Right as TV based gaming is starting to hit deminishing returns, VR is here to save the day. It is already in absolutely gigantic leap over the expereinces on TV and Traditional controls, but there is so much that can easily be addressed, and I am very excited to watch it grow.

Farpoint and RE7. Slight egde to RE7. Batman would have easily been the favorite if it wasn't basically a souped up demo. I still haven't made it past the tutorial in RIGS because of motion sickness which for some reason didn't happen with the Battlezone demo...but I'll be putting more hours into it.

One game demo that really made an impression was Raw Data. Fccking great demo.

The games I'm looking forward to most are Doom VfR and Superhot.

I refuse to continuously play either RE7 or Farpoint because I don't want the experience to end....Yeah I'm milking both games...

And whoever doesn't have PSVR or Vive...Rift whatever...I like the PSVR but either way...do yourself a HUGE FAVOR and save up your pennies...work overtime....go in grandmas purse when she's sleeping...rob a bank...prostitution...whatever! Do what you gotta do and buy a VR HEADSET!!!

This thread came at the right time.

Was able to hop on the $179 Walmart Slickdeal on the GT Sport PSVR Bundle.

So far picked up:
Today from GS: RE7 for $28 + VR Worlds for $15

From ebay:
Farpoint Aim Bundle for $65
A pair of used Move controllers for $40 shipped.

I have Rush of Blood from Plus. (Kicking myself for not DL RIGS when i had the chance to....derp)

Look forward to trying GT, RE7 on Xmas day :)

Just a heads up, GT Sport is on the fritz since the last system update. Connecting with the server has been problematic since yesterday. It will work eventually if you keep trying to reconnect, yet it took me 50 attempts today to get in. Once you're in you're good. You can access the VR tour offline, however you can't level up to unlock more tracks so you only have 3 tracks to try.

I say do yourself a favor and start with RE7.

Playing with a headset on with a cold is not that great. Curling up on the couch with Netflix works better. I still managed to play Skyrim for nearly 2 hours but now I have to disinfect the thing :/

The thought of playing Thumper or Polybius right now, staring into those bright lights with my headache. no thanks! Hiding in the coffin with night mother in the dark, a bit better.
