It's generally a bad idea to trust more than a few specific reviewers you have chosen for yourself. No point in listening to reviewers who don't share your values and priorities even if their taste sometimes aligns by accident.

But yeah, it has been a pretty miserable year for me. Basically all of the games I looked forward to disappointed me deeply on some level and all for different reasons. And I really had a lot of games I was looking forward to :(

Next year should be a lot better though. Far Cry 5, Octopath and DQ11 should all be pretty good.

Yes, it logical to trust less reviewers than to trust most of them, so in this case we can trust more reviewers that gave GOTY award to Horizon Zero Dawn than those that gave to Zelda BotW. Right!?

At this pace its likely to beat the Witcher 3's 257 Goty record. So far its outpacing last years Overall Goty Uncharted 4 which had something less then 30 around the same time frame, eventually settling at 165 gotys. Likely out of the Gotys in 2017 only Mario and Horizon will likely get more then 20 as far where they cap that depends how many critics share the same opinion on Goty.
