Funny you say like the 3ds is a low bar. In the current age of mobile, 3ds pretty much reached near the potential cap of a portable in japan. There is a 3ds for every 4 people in japan.

Also 3DS didn't had any stock problems, while Switch still have them.

Actually there is 3DS on every 5. person in Japan. 3DS is third best selling gaming hardware in history of Japan, only GB/GBA and DS sold better. And it seems that Switch will also be at least 20m+ seller in Japan.

Now you are just being silly. Obviously it's not gonna be up against two different sets of Consoles. As a home Console it's up against the Wii U.

 

As a portable it's only just behind the 3DS.

 

I'd say it's doing fine regardless of whether it's up or not.

It's unfair to compare Switch to 3DS + Wii U.

- 3DS and Wii U are 2 completely different device. - - They play different games.
- You can play a handheld and a home console at the same time. While the Switch you cant.

- And its like saying: MK8 Deluxe vs MK8 + MK7

Switch is doing better than both wiiu/3ds. Same as ps4 to ps3. Why? Both companies are in a much better position as the previous gens bleed then a ton of money.

You can bet your ass off nintendo is much more happier with switch as a "hybrid" selling less than 3ds in units (launch align) or even your unfair wiiu/3ds combine when switch isnt selling for a lost and is taking the marketshare (talking japan since this is a japan thread so lets not go with WW).

 

If you want to be fair too then ps3 is actually selling more than ps4 launch align. Exclude ps4 pro 500k sales and its down (your words "traditional" home console while ps4 is a "mid gen upgrade" console

What if you own 2 Switches? Then you could play one on your TV and one as a handheld at the same time

Yeah they play different games where as switch will get all the home console games and all the portable games. It's got a huge advantage over the 3ds. Comparing 3ds to switch on its own isn't fair on the 3ds.

Anyway it's been another excellent year of trench warfare. However it's Christmas so for one day we will all come together and put our differences aside. Happy Christmas!

3ds half the price. Software 2/3rd of the price. So its not fair for the switch rright?

3ds is not 2 consoles in 1 though. 

 

Switch price < Wii u + 3ds price.

 

You want me to stop posting my opinion? You need to learn to respect other alternative opinions.  You reply to 90% of my posts. I don't do it in return. It's because I accept you are entitled to your opinion even though I don't agree with most of them I read.
