black friday - 24th , worldwirde: 650k Xbox One X; 1,2 Mio PSVR

Where do you get the numbers for 11/24 - 12/24 for the Xbox One X sales and the PSVR sales? Sources?

Those numbers are most likely BS. He was probably referring to the fact the Skyrim PSVR bundle was higher on Amazon.com’s ranking for several days, leading up to Black Friday.

Both consoles have pretty much the same single user base at least active single user base which buys games. On this site there is a hardware total page which show software attach ratio and it is almost equal for bit Xbox One and PS4.

I cant say I know that to coment, you would have to show me that chart for me to comment.

PosPlatformHardwareSoftwareTie RatioGames
9 PlayStation 4 (PS4) 69.77 449.15 6.44 1,049
17 Xbox One (XOne) 34.16 213.65 6.25 625

It is a few weeks older than what is present on the front page but still you can get the picture.

More than twice as large user base. Quite a bit more than twice the amount of games sold, going by VGC total numbers. Going by weekly sales of games on here most games sell at a 2:1 ratio, some even 3 or 4:1, extremes like FFXV even had a 8:1 ratio.

Btw here’s a link from Metacritic showing the numbers of exclusives over 75 last year.

PS4 = 20

NSW = 13

XB1 = 1

That’s what means not being competitive.

Well I saw the top selling games which show a more precise picture. But most games sell around 50% in the US for the ps4, while for the xbox is like 60-80%. aside from fifa off course. The ps4 has like a 1/3 market in the NA while the xbox is 2/3, if not more. Which only means that the xbox's fewer users are on the region that sells the most, so the ratio is skewed in its favor.

Wait a minute. WHat did you just showed me? Is this how many games are on the consoles? Or attach ration of games sold to consoles sold?

I should have seen your reply before replying to him.

Of course this number will be low because all MS games are on PC as well right now. So the games like Cuphead, Forza 7, etc doesn't count. I think the more interesting fact that only Nintendo made it to 90+ club this year and with 4 games while MS and Sony couldn't release at least one 90+ game.

But xbox had 3 exclusives last year if you want to be picky. So it would be 3 against 20 so that argument still doesn't hold.

Due to MS' lack of new IPs and solely relying on Multi-platform support (and BC), I think the Tie Ratio will start to swing strongly in Sony's favour this year. They are already selling 2:1 on most multi-platform titles and this will shift to 3:1 and more by the end of the 2018.

Probably, but I think that we should wait and see. 2:1 for multi-platform titles is a normal thing for 2:1 hardware ratio.
