I’m having similar problems with Chinese fake lottery sites, only on VGC strangely.

I get these sometimes on mobile. Those and 'congratulations you've won an Iphone' (or whatever) sites.

Never had them on pc/mac though.

Never had this before, but I use Noscript and Adblock, so maybe it has something to do with that?

What web browser are you using?

The new Firefox. Noscript is pretty messed up on it (until they make a proper update), and it forgets choices I've made every time I restart the browser/computer, so it's not very convenient having it activated either.
Certainly better than getting redirected to suspicious sites though.

I use Firefox as well

Luckily NoScript saved my old choices so the sites I frequent already have it disabled.. haven't tested new choices yet though

Interesting. And you switched to the new Firefox? Because for me it has issues remembering a lot of things. It does indeed remember a bunch of sites I've white or blacklisted, but for Vgchartz I now have the "Hot Topics" section blocked every time I restart the browser. And embedded Youtube clips as well. That was never the case before on the old Firefox.
The new Firefox also doesn't remember certain choices for me on Youtube, such as "Night mode" or that I've turned "Auto play" off. I have to redo those things every time.

Yes, but also, the NoScript is different, with the toolbar gone and a new drop down menu for enabling/disabling scripts

No, I set it as trusted, so it won't block it :p

Yeah. I have Vgchartz set to trusted as well. Apparently that doesn't take the Hot Topics bar or embedded Youtube videos into account. At least not for me.
I believe that in the past you were asked if you wanted to trust a certain specific script on a site one by one, and if you wanted to do it permanently or temporarily. Since that doesn't seem to happen any more I just click on the "Temporarily allow all on this page" button, which is probably why it forgets in between sessions.
I'll try to find the specific scripts for "Hot Topics" and embedded youtube videos next time I restart the browser.

Yes, I think the only way is to manually add it in the options. Would be nice if they could fix this, or maybe there is a way to make it permanent and I just don't see it :p

I guess ioi needed some extra coins for another of his luxurious cars
