I'm going to say this right now...

If you claim to be pro-net neutrality, then you cannot say that this is good in any way. You can't complain about companies controlling the internet, and then be perfectly fine with a basic monopoly in the entertainment business because mah Mahvel.

Absolutely wrong.  I'm not a Disney fan, but I'm a Marvel fan.  They have a product that I want that I'm will to vote with my wallet in support of that product.  And that product is ultimately a "WANT, " not a need.  I can do without if needed be.  Not the same as the internet which in essences is a tool, a near necessity.

Marvel is an arm of Disney. Whether or not you like Disney, you're paying them by going to Marvel movies, so in that sense, you are unintentionally supporting Disney, whether or not you actually like them. I myself go to Marvel movies, and I probably still will depending on the appearance of the film, but this is a super business that increased so much today. 25% of stock shares may seem like a ton, but when you see what Disney got in return, it's minimal dividends.

Everyone complains about the big ISP's gaining ground in repealing NN, and yet when Disney continues to buy their competition, no one bats an eye. I'm not saying boycott Disney, mostly because anything you see in media is most likely connected to Disney in some way. They now control 60% of Hulu and are ever increasing, and it wont be long until Universal gets bought out along with DreamWorks.

So. I never said I hated Disney...

The only company that combats Disney is Warner Brothers and that's it. No one else dares to go against Disney. That's why Disney always get good box office because other companies flee whichever month Disney has a hold on. WB the only company that doesn't always back down.

Not to mention the prices Disney throws at these companies is too good to give up.

Not quite a monopoly yet. Sure you could argue that companies avoid Disney releases, but that would be like saying Activision has a monopoly because game companies usually avoid releasing around Call of Duty (And when they do Rayman Legends and Titanfall 2 happen).

Also my main interest is the flow of better content. Disney making better F.F movies or X-Men movies? Good.

Them having the Riordanverse/Percy Jackson rights and making a good adaption? I'd love that.

We do have new companies popping in. Lionsgate for example. Fox being eaten up hardly means that nothing can replace it.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

In Fox's case Rupert Murdoch said with streaming and watch it when you want upon us, this new way of watching entertainment allied with not just Netflix but firms like Facebook ,Apple, Amazon all with their own ecosystems entering the market has driven up the cost of making and delivering content .

With the above happening  the best way forward  for old media without a ecosystem going into that space and how to best monetise it still unclear,  with this in mind they handed over the parts of Fox most susceptible to this new age for Disney to  solve , whilst keeping  what Murdoch called real time media, being  news and sport segments that can be integrated into news corp, with the rest of their 21st century fox assets making  Disney  a stronger player in the entertainment as a service future something that will still  benefit them since they will have a 25% stake in Disney and  with Murdoch the largest individual shareholder.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Disney is taking over the world!!!!

Seriously though, the amount of franchises they own are absolutely insane. Who has a better entertainment portfolio right now?

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

True about Universal I always forget about them. However, DreamWorks is a flea to Disney. DreamWorks haven't been relevant in years.

This is too close to monopoly for my liking...
