Do you support the death penalty?

I have no idea why people were pushing for Moore so hard in light of everything. You actually recede your position of values when you stand behind someone like that.

The republicans and the republican party don't care about that right now though. It's about party over values for them, and it's shit like that, that ends up destroying and tarnishing the image of a party. I can get behind a good republican with good values like McCain or even Romney, but when you get scum like this and people, especially women, support him, it's just sad and sickening. 

Yes but that has very little to do with abortion now does it? and even less when you try and compare not supporting abortion with racism.

What does that have to do with anything?  Do you support "end of life treatment" aka assisted suicide?  Apparently these days we're not allowed to put violent murderers, rapists, etc to death, but we can choose when to terminate both our own lives and that which we carry within our bodies.

The better candidate won. Luther Strange would have cruised to victory (and Trump initially supported and campaigned for him, not Moore), but the idiot Bannon fringe of the GOP shot themselves in the foot by going with Moore in the primary.

I love all the people celebrating the election of a Democrat to the Senate in Alabama as if it hasn't happened in forever, including OP.  Meanwhile, there was a Democrat Senator in "red" Alabama as recently as the mid 90s who retired (the seat ended up being filled by Jeff Sessions), and prior to 1980 you'd have to go back well over 100 years for the last time a Republican had held a Senate seat in Alabama. It was literally nothing but Democrats in the Alabama Senate for over a century (as was most of the south)...

Also... now that kiddy diddler Moore is no longer in the picture and will never become a member of Congress, Democrats can come down off their high horse and face the #MeToo music as well, starting with Al Franken, who's been in the Senate for nearly a decade now despite his well known history of sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry, and over the past week some media outlets such as the NYT have even started to backpedal on calls for his resignation, saying he should be given a "fair hearing" instead.

So now he's banned from the National Mall too.

Damn I was already too late. Someone already mentioned proportional representation.

What a sad state we find ourselves in.

I'm surprised how much attention this election in Alabama has been receiving. Even in Canada it's been the top story the past few days.
