Forums - Microsoft Discussion - PUGB on XB1 drops to 4fps, issues also on XB1X- Digital Foundry

I played some games last night on X. Yeah I was suprised how awful it looks, almost like original Xbox game at times. Pre-game lobby is a mess and I noticed some framerate dips right after landing.

But it's still very much playable and fun even though I was completely lost for couple of games. I van see why it's so popular despite the issues.

They still have alot of work to do but it's cool to be a part of this early access.

Which should be a surprise to no one. The current consoles, especially the mid-gen upgrades, are so imbalanced.

No, most games run better than this. Sometimes even 60 fps.

Maybe this game is poorly optimized on CPU? Fortnite seems to hold up better doing something similar on the same engine.

Oh yeah, I was just saying that if a game is having frame rate issues it's obvious that it's going to be the fault of the woefully underpowered CPUs.

PUBG is just fucked from a technical standpoint.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I've been enjoying it. Not the best looking game but fun as hell. Framerate sucks untill you hit the ground, it a few seconds after that. At least it's playable. Unlike the Drive club crapfest.

Not sure what you mean by this, Driveclub holds a rocksteady 30fps the entire time...

Also was anyone expecting anything better from PUBG? It still runs like arse on decent computers, they really need to work on optimising the game.

Was unplayable the first month. Not talking about framerate just the simple fact that it was broke.

Microsoft should give these devs all the help they need to make it run better. I don't think they're up to the job themselves.

Of course, the game needs so much new content too. Otherwise it'll be dead the moment other publishers release their polished battle royale games.

If PC was so good, they'd be able to insert a slideshow mode in their games

#consolemasterrace
#4fpsandterribletexturesmasterrace

But it can. It's called "buying an AMD GPU".

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Jesus Christ! 4 FPS? Hopefully it gets fixed soon. Microsoft needs this game to do well.

You are making shit up. I had DC since day one and there was no gameplay issue.

The only problem that existed was with the DC free version (Demo) that Sony was planning to release for PS+ members but ended up reversing. There were server issues (as there are in any number of games, with some people not able to connect), but the game itself played absolutely fine.

So yeah, on behalf of the truth, feel free to retract your statement

This game has a million issues on PC already, I really never understood why it became such a hot item for console only players.

I really believe it's not the type of game that can thrive on a console. It's too slow paced, no single player mode, it demands a LOT of patience. It can generate a lot of frustration. I can't even imagine how much worse it will even feel without keyboard and mouse aim.

There are moments of fun to be had, but there is a ton of nothingness in between those moments.

Just my opinion anyway

Many games on X1X seem to have similar issues. It seems like it’s an unbalanced system, no one sane would pair a GTX 1060/70 with a five year old tablet CPU on PC.
