Yeah the numbers don't lie, PS4 was at the top with hardly any contest it's launch year(and let's face it, the whole 8th gen).  Though like I said in another thread - Nov. 2017 was a special case, with PS4 discounted and X launching, while Switch had no deals or sales.  Take it as you will but the last few months other than those with a Black Friday in them have been led by Switch.  I expect the same in December with PS4 returning to regular price and Xbox fading into the distance again.

I may be getting confused if you're still talking about launch-aligned, but it doesn't sound like you are.

According to VGC Switch has only won 2 weeks outside of it's launch week globally against the PS4, The PS4 has led every single month globally. Switch has led months in America, but not even close globally.

Sorry, was thinking regions when I wrote that.  US and Japan specifically.  My mistake.

And how has Switch vs. PS4 fared in Japan? But lets talk globally only as you want to. Look below at quote. With launches aligned the Switch is only 250k behind PS4 at week 41. The next 4 weeks are still holiday weeks for the Switch numbers. The next four weeks of PS4 numbers are somewhere in like August or something. The Switch should cover that gap I would assume before 2018 starts.

With the official 10m figure for around Week 41, we can see the Switch is now roughly 250k behind the PS4.

The Wii U can rest easy

Damn Switch that was fast

What was X1 first 10 months? Any1 kno

About half of that. Though, to be fair X1 had a competitor, not to mention an extremely strong competitor.

I'm not sure why this is a response to my post? I'm just responding to what I perceived as a false statement about Switch leading global sales lol.

Yes I have no doubt that the Switch will have surpassed the PS4 launch aligned, probably by Week Ending 16th December.

While technically the Switch is the Wii U's successor, the reality is that it is much more a return to the drawing board and a re-do on the proper Wii successor.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Just for record, Switch is on track with PS4, PS4 also sold around 10m for around first 9 months on market, but with difrence that Switch now has most of December left of sales.

Good, not as much as some were predicting for holiday sales though. Should finish 12-13m by end of the year. Will definitely be lagging behind the PS4 soon though unless it picks up the pace. That's only around a 2m november.

This are sold through numbers and most people predicted shipped numbers. Actually Switch sales are currently on pair with PS4 sales in 1st year of PS4, and with rest of December Switch will take out the lead.

Damn, just like Splatoon 1, I'm eating crow. I expected to do way worse, probably cause I'm past portable gaming.

Yes it'll take the lead launch aligned for a couple of months, but if it wants to maintain it's lead 2m for it's first november isn't good enough.
