How come there are some games that are just in beta forever?  I can come up with a few titles off the top of my head like Road Redemption, DayZ, and many more.  Now you have companies that have their game in beta announcing DLC for said game when they haven't even finished the game...

What is up with this?  Lazy developers?  Not enough people or time working on game?  Ambition too high? Developer trying to get support? 

I don't think I'd ever jump on a game that seems to be stuck in beta forever.  That includes PUBG which if I had to guess will be in beta for a very long time.  What's funny is most of these forever betas seem to have originated from kickstarter.  Gotta feel bad for people that threw down money for support and get rewarded with a half finished game.

Because it gives easy money without even finishing the game

Because the mindset of many devs is "if the game sells well before even being finished, why bother?".

I feel that many people will agree with me when I say that β is a better letter than α.

So, that is my reason. β is a better letter than α. Anyone saying otherwise is spreading fake news.

Well there are some games that are released that apparently are still in alpha.  So I suppose beta game owners can look down on alpha game owners.

Because they are making money.Why put in the effort, the extra effort, if you have already found success?

I remember seeing a video where someone would create a female avatar in home and then log on.  A few mins later they would be surrounded by horny desperate guys.

Limited resources/missjudgement of resources and abilities, lack of commitment, missing incentive (ie a publisher in ones neck).

You can continually get paid for something you're not finishing. Pretty good deal for them.

The DLC thing is a piss take though.
