So, Capcom announced yesterday that they will release a Collection of old Street Fighter games to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the franchise. This pack includes the original, many MANY versions of SFII and a couple of SFIII versions. And it's coming to the Switch too.

On one hand, I'm glad Capcom is starting to speed up their releases on the Switch, and considering the console has been a very good place for fighting games, I guess it makes sense. On the other hand, Capcom just released SFII Ultra. Like, a couple of months ago. Granted, SFII Ultra is an HD version of SFII, but it's still more or less the same game. And the price will probably be similar. I can see people who bought SFII Ultra being quite angry by the fact they paid 30-40€ for a single old SF game when they could have waited and gotten a much complete package for a similar price. And Capcom still has to release new games into the Switch instead of old ports, Megaman 11 nonwithstanding.

What do you think? Are you glad Capcom is bringing this game to the Switch, or are you mad of them cashing in with SFII Ultra before releasing the collection?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I worry about the online and the controller. For me, portability is the draw for most Switch games. With this game, the lack of a d-pad kinda kills that for me.

its not even a given that SF2 will have online on SF 30th anniversary collection, capcom did nothing wrong

This what they should have done to begin with.

It kinda of cheapens USFII as almost a waste of time and money for some people. Besides being able to switch between the original and Remix sprites, playing as Evil Ryu and Violent Ken, etc., there really isn't much to make this port worthy of a $40 price tag, at least compared to the 12 game collection + special features that is the SF 30th Anniversary Collection. It's unfortunate that the former had to be the "testing the waters" game, when it was $40. I guess its good for Capcom that it sold pretty well for what it was.

I did! I don't take it out of the house with me, though. Besides, I use fight pads when I play fighting games.

I'm really happy about it, include cross platform online matches and it's the perfect game. I wanted to buy USF2, now I'm buying this and wait until USF2 is really cheap (or until Nintendo makes the next humble bundle sale). Finally I'll be able to play SF3, and the Alpha series! I mean, I played Alpha 2 on SNES and I own Alpha 3 on GBA but it's not the same...

He talked about portability. Pro Controller isn't really an option on the go.
