Nice, Final Fantasy X is on the list.

Anyway,

Looking forward to Ace Combat 7, Spider-Man and Dragon Quest XI. And the Secret of Mana remake.

''Hadouken!''

Isn't Ni No Kuni 2 also coming to PC ?

To some it might, to others it won't. That's why these kinds of pronouncements are never a good idea.

Now this thread is going to be filled with people saying, "IN MY DAY BLAH BLAH BLAH."

I'm not a PS owner, but according to overall community reaction, it'll be very hard to beat out even PS' own 2017. From what I've seen/read Horizon seems better than any of those listed. GOW and Superman might turn out great, but this is yet to be seen, and the David Cage one is gonna be another movie.

My girlfriend is getting all excited about Bloodborne 2, though. Dunno what that's about.

Yeah personally looks pretty terrible exclusive wise. 2017 had Persona 5, Nioh, Yakuza which these 3 alone > everything 2018. And thats without mentioning top games like Uncharted, GT Sport and the glorious most valorous Knack 2.

To be fair the games in 2018 have to actually release before I can judge them, but just going off my personal expectations it doesn't look too good.

....ok

History? Lol absolutely not! This gen? Not erven that. Looks alright but far from best. Every year in the 4th/5th gen has every year in this gen beat by a country mile.

......wow.

Well. Subjectivity I guess.

To OP, I am inclined to agree with you. Of the games you mentioned there are 7 new IPs there (yes, incuding GOW which is a reboot and nothing like the games before it). That alone makes it btter for me than most years as I follow playstation because of the amount of new IPs they cough out. Then the games that aren't new IPs are equally just as good.

I can't relate how or why some seem so atagonistic over the lineup, but no one else  can boast having AAA exclusive games that all stand a good chance to score 80+ coming out back to back  fro almost every month all year round.

NI NO KUNI:  1/2018

- Yay

SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS REMAKE:  2/6/18

- YAY

YAKUZA 6: 3/2018

- Eh

GOD OF WAR:  “early 2018”. Though GoW games have always released in March. Oh, and the Game length is checking out at 25-35 hours.

- Eh

DETROIT:  Spring 2018, so approximately April-June.

 - Ugh

SPIDER-MAN:  First half of 2018. I think Sony would want to release this while there was still a lot of hype over Avengers: Infinity War, which releases 5/4/18. So i would suspect either May or June (nless it gets delayed).

 - Whoo!

DAYS GONE:  Only window given was 2018, to my knowledge. Shu said the game is playable from beginning to end, and that Bend is now only working on polishing the game.

 - Yay

DREAMS:  Only window given was 2018. It will also have a beta.

 - I don't even

CONCRETE GENIE:  2018

 - What?

DISSIDIA FF:  2018

 - Eh

Rarely do we agree, but you summed up my thoughts exactly :)

Ni No Kuni 2 is coming to PC...

http://store.steampowered.com/app/589360/Ni_no_Kuni_II_Revenant_Kingdom/

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Meh, only one I'm mildly interested in is God of War.

I remember when I got a Playstation 4 I was so excited. It was more or less the first Playstation console I owned and I was ready to jump into their great exclusive line up. They had a track record of making mature, fun, and intersting creative titles.

I'd say that since getting a Playstation 4 I've been more than disappointed. The exclusives are rarely great. That's changed a bit with Japanese third party support like Bloodborne or Persona, but next year will mostly be focused on Western titles. It will be especially hard for them to succeed next year because most of these games are story driven, and quite honestly I think gamers are too easily pleased by stories presented in them. A lot of the times games stories aren't that great but everyone hypes them up for even trying ( " It's not a game script, it's a ... script!" ). Especially when games market their stories in a really pretentious way ... their stories tend to be worse than a regular game's story, because they focus on it so much the cracks are more noticeable.

To rip off Azuren:

Ni No Kuni 2: Not exclusive, and I honestly have not seen anything to make me hype up this game. Conclusion : Meh

Shadow of the Colossus Remake: YES! AWESOME! The reason I'm considering a PS4 Pro! Conclusion : YESS!!

Yakuza 6: I haven't even played 0 or Kiwami yet, I'm Yakuza'd out Conclusion : Ehhhhhhhh

God of War: Meh. Looks too much like TLOU but I like the look of that NeverEnding Story dragon. I would be more interested in this if Sony *cough cough* released GOW 1 and 2 on PS4 *cough*. As of now this looks meh Conclusion : Meh

Detroit: Looks better with every trailer! But I'm skeptical because of it's genre ....... blegh Conclusion : Skeptically hyped

Spider Man: I'm not much into super heroes but it looks cool possibly Conclusion : Ehhhh

Days Gone: Ehhhh could be awesome could be bad Conclusion : Ehhhh

Dreams: Naaaahhhhhhh lol Conclusion : Is this even a game?

Concrete Genie: Looks cool! Hope it's good! Conclusion : Yeahhh!

Dissidia FF: Who cares? Conclusion : Blegh

So I'm not going to take a wait and see approach. But as of now, i'd say probably not. This list reminds me a lot of those threads I made this year that were like "2017 BEST YEAR IN GAMING???" "2017 YEAR OF PLATFORMING???" and I'd just list a bunch of games as if that meant anything In hindsight those threads I made were dumb.

Then again I'm a cynical asshole. So take what I say with a grain of pepper.
