Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Nintendo and Bethesda's cooperation recently over their single player focus?

With that recent Bethesda video about single player games at the Game Awards, I wonder if that might have played into them doing more game work on Nintendo?

After all, what is Zelda and Mario but a single player game, and they dominate on the Switch where the other consoles are dominated by multi player games?

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I hope so, I still love single player mode and a good campaign.

I think they are working for the same goal just not necessarily the same way.

Fallout 4 is next imo.

The new Elder Scrolls tho, im not so sure.

The other consoles aren't "dominated by multi player games." There are tons of single player games available and more on the way, especially from Sony. The next Elder Scrolls is going to do crazy numbers on both Xbox and Playstation.

That has nothing to do with anything.

Most likely, it's as simple as Nintendo actually talking to Bethesda. That was what Peter Hines ranted about regarding Nintendo during the Wii U era. Actually, that rant itself might be the reason for the support Bethesda is giving now, which goes to show that airing complaints can be a good thing. It might have been a wake-up call for Nintendo executives who were in-charge of developer relationships. Either way, communication is a good thing.

If you mean ports, it will depend on the sales numbers.

If you mean their new games, probably not. Those will be aimed at the more powerful consoles.

I dont know about that, the two newest IPs by Nintendo have been multiplayer focused (Splatoon and Arms), their single-player focus is not as relentless as bethesda's, so I dont see the connection.

I make game analyses on youtube:

Mario oddessy  is actually 2players! I played the whole  game  in co op with my son.

Bethesda would do a games as service if they knew how.

Ha, did not know about this. Interesting lol. May actually get it now.

Edit: Replying to whoever said odyssey was co op lol.
