Yea, that's crazy.  I don't even see Nintendo doing an XL version, either, as that would increase costs quite a bit.  I think they got Switch the way they want it.  I mean, we may get a slightly altered Switch with a better GPU in 2-3 years, but next year would be nuts.  Personally, I think the next HW revision is going to be a PS4 Pro Slim.  X is most likely not going to get one, as it is already pretty small.  The S may get smaller, but we'll see.

I'm hoping for a Switch with a D-pad Joy-con and more storage space. A dock that won't scratch the Switch would be nice, too.

That seems like minor revisions. The report was discussing major ones.

Switch is confirmed over 900K.

Zhuge said this was best month ever for Switch (March 2017 was 910K)

So there is a slim possibility of 3 1m consoles, which would be awesome. Such strong Switch sales also points to PS4 being stronger then what we listed.

I think MS does, wouldn't you agree?

Only for PR reason... the revenue isn't more important than the profit.

You think SONY is increasing profit when, while selling more units they have less revenue? Please elaborate.

Revenue is important. I work for a big reseller company and we get targeted not just on profit, but also revenue.

As for profit, Microsoft makes a lot more of that than Sony.

Btw, we should not get too much into the leak which said PS4 : Switch is 2:1 , cause that leak sound very confusing. Just use what Matt and Zhuge said:

  • PS4 about double of what it sold in November 2014
  • Switch best month ever since launch
We can know from this that PS4 is double than the 831,000 in November 2014, but with a margin of error of course (can be 5%, 10%, 15% for all we know) , so +-1.662 million , while Switch is at >910K.
XB1 had his best November but not best month, so is between 1.3 million and 1.5 million.
Overall, we have a very good point of view for the month, when Donny post the predictions results, we should know even better.

Why such a low ranking for Super Mario Odyssey, sure its only on 1 platform and no digital, though Switch has a lower digital rate than the other 2 consoles, but still if you look at Amazon its killing it.

I'm beginning to think Amazon is heavily Switch Biased, if you look at November on Amazon, then switch easily beats PS4, but in reality from NPD ps4>Switch 2:1

For one, Odyssey's digital numbers aren't included (no Nintendo Switch or 3DS digital numbers are include. Blame Nintendo). Second, don't rely completely on Amazon. It's kinda good for hardware and maaaayybe for software, but only at telling you potential/popularity. Not really on rankings.

Also, Amazon November charts include an extra week not tracked on NPDs charts. That extra week, the Switch was always on Top 10 and the PS4 was out of stock.

I think you are right on Amazon favoring Nintendo numbers tho. Yearly charts put 3 Nintendo games at the top, which is comoletely wrong. But you know, we can explain that by higher digital rates on other systems + Amazon separates SKUs which give a bug advantage to exclusived. But it still puts something like Ghost Recon Wildlands too low compared to NPD's own chart.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I haven't said Sony increased profit. But PS4 having less revenue than X1 doesn't mean less profits if each individual console sale had better margin.

As the other post pointed, X1S and X1X are suspected to being sold at loss, so their revenue being bigger still makes loses instead of profits. Because if PS4 sold let's say 1.6M consoles, being 1M 199 PS4s, 300k 249 PS4s and 300k 349 PS4Pro it would be 200M+75M+105M=380M revenue in consoles and let's say they lost 20 on each 199, made 30 on each 249 and 50 on each 349 it would mean -20M+9M+15M=4M in profit (very slim profits because of BF). While MS selling 650k X1X and 650 X1S at 500 and 189 respectively and lets say each lose 10 per sale (this of course is being generous since X1X cost much more to make than PS4Pro and X1S probably more than PS4) would make the revenue 325M+122M= 447M revenue and 13M loss. The numbers may be wrong, but that is the line of though.
