Third and fourth years are the best years if the system launches at $399 or more. I would expect a system launch at the same price as the first PlayStation to do well from the get go.

Well Switch has done well from the get go so there you go.

Yeah. I would expect that it does at that price.

ps2, and wii were surely hampered by stock, and it just doesn't have mario and zelda, it has mario kart, and splatoon as well. as for 2014 ps4 big games, they were all on xbox as well, so it's not like nintendo where they are all exclusive.

It doesnt matter that they are multiplats, multiplats are huge system sellers for PS consoles.

Zelda & Mario Kart were on Wii U so according to you we cant count those as big games for Switch and its just Splatoon 4.5 months after launch and Mario almost 8 months after launch.

yea i'm just saying those multiplats are huge sellers but many people buy xbox for them instead of playstation, thats why november ps4 sales weren't strong. as for the wiiu comparisons, hardly anyone bought a wiiu

Well, we had no reports of it being sold out.  A few online retailers sold out of them for a couple days, but stock was quickly replenished, with them pointing people to pick them up in stores while they were sold out.  The rest is really anecdotal, with most, if not all, people reporting they were still in stock near them.  I know the stores around me still had 6-8 of them after BF.

I dont know why is it so hard to believe that the Switch stock issues are over.

Some user reported that he visited several stores in his area and all of them had plenty of stock, minutes later another user replied "But did you go to every store in Texas?".

I mean, some people wont be convinced by anything.

The strangest thing is that some of them got all excited because it was reported at the beginning of Oct that Nintendo was making 2M a month.  Now, we're back to stock issues being the reason sales aren't as high as they thought it would be.

Let's do some actual thinking.  2M a month is 4M for Oct and Nov.  ~1/2 of those are more than likely going to NA, with ~90% going to the US.  So, ~1.8M for both months.  Well, the Switch sold ~300K for Oct.  That leaves ~1.5M for Nov.  Plenty of stock.

Funny how all of a sudden price matters 100%. Especially when we all (most) thought before release it wasnt going to do good. "$300 is too expensive" and its one of the highest selling gaming hardware year 1

Price does matter. If the Switch was cheaper it'd obviously do better, and if it was more expensive it'd obviously do worse.

I don't know what the argument was then? Did someone say beforehand that it didn't matter at all?

What's the name of that user?

Gotcha, well Lawlight is using the whole 399 vs 299 launch align to put down switch sales. All im saying is price puts a huge factor into sales of course but if it were everything then sales of all hardware would be different. Sorry if its hard or my explanation is plan bad lol

PS4 sales were strong, XBO was just stronger because of the massive deals it had that month.
