Forums - PC Discussion - NVIDIA TITAN V Announced..... $3000

WTF... I am honestly really curious about the specs. The TitanXp is an absolute monster already in both gaming and productivity, if the Titan V reaches Quadro performance in workstation tasks, and they up the gaming performance even more it would actually be worth that $ 3k.

Will buy pending specs

[edit] Seems only 12gb? I'll Pass

in that linked article it's listed with 5120 Shadercores at 1.2GHz/1.455GHz Boost for 15 TFLOPS theoretical FP32 performance

doesn't look like it's going to blow away the Titan Xp

Yeah nah, Nvidia can go "GTFO"

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5

That's a ridiculous price. I don't know if it's worth it compared to what else you can get for the money, but that's really, really expensive.

HBM2 vs Xp's G5X. So it will be far faster. That said, I understand your frustration with the amount. They need to move on up - but then..... RAM prices are ridiculous right now. This is the full fat GV100 chip, too (as Maxwell was with GM200). So no Titan Black/Xp situation for Volta. It's going to be a substantial leap over Pascal.

Indeed, it's much faster, but when you can buy two Xp's for less than one V? nah.

Needed more ram, or a lower price.

For me, it will depend on the benches. If two Titan Xp's remain faster, I may just buy one now and another in the Fall.

That's the other concern, I'm currently running three GPU's, and I desperately want to downsize to an extremely powerful ITX or as-near-to-itx-as-possible setup and run single GPU, while I don't mind the additional heat in winter, rendering stuff for work in summer gets frustrating.

That and I've spent the past 20 years with full size towers, I want something tiny for once, so I don't have to lug so much stuff around when doing business trips

that's 110 tflops in tensor, 30tflops half precision, 15 single precision, 7.5 double precision, before someone flips their shit.

Specs announced............. holy CHRIST!

"TITAN V excels at computational processing for scientific simulation. Its 21.1 billion transistors deliver 110 teraflops of raw horsepower, 9x that of its predecessor, and extreme energy efficiency".

"The NVIDIA Titan V is based on the GV100 GPU architecture and features a total of 5120 CUDA cores and 320 texture units. This is the exact same amount of cores featured on the Tesla V100. In addition to the regular cores, the card also packs 640 Tensor Cores inside the Volta GPU. These are geared for maximum deep learning performance as the card can crunch up to 110 TFLOPs of GPU performance for AI related algorithms. The entirety of the core is clocked at 1200 MHz base and 1455 MHz boost. Even with such hefty amount of specs, the card only requires a 8 and 6 pin power connector configuration to boot and comes in a 250W package."

I'm absolutely, unequivocally, SOLD!

HOW?!

Just how is that possible?!?!?!

OH... I see nevermind then haha

Yeah, I edited for the less savvy

had to make that destinction before someone ran with it and we got "110 vs xbox one x's tiny 6" threads :P

incidentally, you interested in seeing (pm) the kinda junk i do?
