Well last year the PS4 only had half of it's install base on PSN, 25 million. So honestly it's more likely that people either get one month subs and don't resub, or there's still an active community on PS3

Are you sure that 25 million number isn't for PS+ subscribers, and not PSN as a whole?

Ah yeah, I'm stupid ahaha. I'm so used to PS+ being mostly required for internet that i'm used to PSN just being synonymous with PS+.

I also thought steam was bigger. Just shows you how big playstation really is.

Imagine how large PSN will get after the PS4 hits 100M+.

Psn includes PS3 and vita, right? Wonder how much of the userbase is on PS4

That was PS+ not active PSN users.

Imagine how big it is when the ps5 is selling gang busters in its first 2 years while the ps4 is still selling around the world with an install Base of 130m.

Mostly on ps3 ?

I'd like to point out this is about Steam's monthly active players versus Sony's monthly active users. Steam reportedly had over 125 million active users in 2015. That said, it would be interesting to know the exact definitions used by each company. Reportedly, Valve's definition for an active user back in 2013 was someone who has logged in in the last 90 days.
