Yeah you can't argue with this. Not the ps4's fault the ps2 was slower getting out elsewhere.

As I keep saying if we truly aligned consoles then PS2>Wii>PS4.
But with most comparisons it will be Wii>PS4>PS2.
Being an old console the PS2 launched very late to many markets.

Its absolutely valid, releasing in United States, Canada, UK, France, Germany, etc. 8-9 months later makes a MASSIVE difference. I get what you're saying though, its impossible to make a 100% accurate comparison since each console could have released in secondary/tertiary countries at different points in their lives but being in ONLY Japan for 8-9 months vs America+Europe is a really big difference. |
If you have no stock available then it gets hard to sell more even launching WW.
And also some could also discount the fact that PS4 launched later to Japan and also that it sell a lot less over there.

True but if they wanted a WW launch for PS2 than they would have launched it when they had more stock available.
The point is PS2 vs PS4 based on the first day they were available does not give an accurate assessment of how they are performing compared to one another.

when they were able to produce more they launched WW... I don`t know the difficult people see in these type of things, like people that think Switch could have launched with 3x more HW produced.

If Nintendo would have released the Switch in 2018, they would have more stock available by then.

I honestly have no idea what you are saying.

Hehehe
Im just pointing out the fact that there are waaay more reasons to launch a console than just stock.
If Sony released the PS2* in Japan and then the rest of the world, thats because they had plenty of reasons to do so.
If the only reason was just stock, then every company would gather tens of millions of consoles in a warehouse till the production was big enough to fill every retailer in the world with plenty of stock for years.

That any forced restriction can look silly.
The fact that PS2 released later on USA and Europe also allowed for stock on those launch, more SW and pent up demand. So just deciding to make all markets align and call it a day isn`t any better than compare one market against the world.
