Well, better late than never, good for them. Gonna check back in 2 years when they finally give it the correct score of 99.

My problem with this is that only an extremely small number of games get re-rated. In order for this to properly work, you'd have to constantly re-assess and re-score almost every single game.

For online only games at least.

Did they do the same for Driveclub?! Will they do the same for GTS?!

Lol no. IGN is totally biased against everything that's not Rocket League.

IGN is following the footsteps of the great VGChartz, by adjusting their scores to reflect reality.

This can only mean good things going forward.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:3

I got into a debate with pokoko recently about revisiting scores, and he won me over. It makes sense. Consumers should have the best and most accurate information available to them. As long as publications have the manpower/capacity to do so, I have no problem with these type of score refreshes.

I would insist on a couple of caveats though: 1) that publications still give scores on day 1 or before so potential buyers know what they're getting at launch; and 2) that games which lose features (for example with the closing of servers) get the same re-review treatment.

So pricing cannot be an issue for a game in reviews cause everything gets cheaper anyways that mostly for short length games. Or games with gameplay that will eventually get outdated? Is there a time limit for re-reviews?

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

On Steam they already started to weight user ratings for the most recent. For a platform where user reviews actually count for a lot that was a good step.

well its still popular and has changed and evolved since then, it makes sense. also its free marketing for rocket league, which is good for them. no issues with this, not all games can be re-reviewed but there are exceptions and should be due to the dynamic environment games are in today.
