Yer it got pretty ugly too. It was all in your face too.

Too many hipster kids chanting shit they know nothing about i.e. it isn't fair everyone deserves equality in Australia rather than the right to marry. Last time I checked i am pretty sure our Government treats Aborigines like shit (i.e. just give them land and hope they stay there and not bother educating them) still even though they say they don't. Equality is a long way off in this country.

Also attacking old people who don't agree. Like really? You can't train an old dog new tricks seems to not be taught these days. The person is like 60+ they will die sooner rather than later let them think what they want to think, life is too short to hate old people lol.

Aborigines have so many more benefits than regular folks. They’re very privileged. They just choose to squander the opportunities given to them.

Benefits are pointless if you can't give people the right tools to get out of a shit hole. They have lived like that for generations, they need more people intervention to help break a cycle.

it is no different to generational dole bludgers i guess.

And they’ve lived as a hunters/gatherers society for far longer. At what point do tax payers stop being the ones paying for them and they start standing on their own legs?

Yay, I hope everybody legalizes it one day, so then everybody could be who they are without difficulties

Well, there are a lot of other things that need to be accepted too, not just homosexuality.

Yeah, i didn´t mean it that way, but when it comes to homosexuality is still very divisive specially in eastern nations for some reason... It will still take some time to be fully accepted

Yes the privilege of the stolen generation , the privilege of having lower life expectancy , the privilege of not being able to vote till 1967, there are  a great many more privileges but I don't want people to feel bad that they  missed out on all this largess.

Yeah, let’s talk about things that happened 40 years ago and ignore all the benefits they get now - abstudy, native title benefits, empoyers getting paid to employ aborigines, the fact that more money is spent on their education and health (even though their life expectancy is mostly due to preventable chronic conditions) per capita than other Australians.

If it’s divisive in eastern nations, wait till you hear that it’s illegal in Islamic countries.

I know that, which is even worse, killing someone because of sexuality sounds like something totally archaic

On a personal note, I am overjoyed with this news. It's been a long time coming.

I myself am straight, but I have several close friends and family who are gay/lesbian/bi, and it's always seemed so unfair to me that these lovely, kind people who pay their taxes and contribute to their communities didn't get to have the same rights as me. This means so much to them, and seeing them so happy makes me happy too.

Great news
