Forums - Sony Discussion - US: New December deals for PS4 Pro and PlayStation VR systems

High-end PC VR has the quality hardware/software but the entry price is way to high to attract a wide audience.

I dont even think PC VR has the quality software.

Sure Oculus funded some A-AA games (the unspoken, Robo Recall, Artika.1, Lone Echo) but besides that, there isnt that much big stuff next to the 2 bethesda VR games releasing this months.

Some Indies/EA Games like Pavlov or Onward are great but those are EA Indies without any marketing.

On the Other Hand Sony has Resident Evil 7, Farpoint, Rigs, +Skyrim and Doom as well + some big games coming like the Supermassive Games, Blood&Truth and co. Definitly "bigger" games im comparison imo.

199 for the psvr with camera is a steal, even with gt sports lacking vr mode.

You can basically just sell gt sport for 30 bucks and get a full vr system for 170. Mindblown

GT Sport has a VR mode.

yeah but its lacking/very light/bad

I think Sony are smart to be quite aggressive in PSVR pricing. For starters, It's been a year, so I think they have some pricing headroom anyway, but, more importantly, the whole Playstation VR ecosystem is dependent on a solid start.

Don't forget RE7 gold edition is releasing Dec 12th for $50.

The Gold Edition includes all of the content from the main game, in addition to the “Banned Footage Vol. 1,” “Banned Footage Vol. 2,” and upcoming “End of Zoe” downloadable content packs.

Both the new “End of Zoe” and free “Not a Hero” downloadable content will launch on December 12.

“End of Zoe” is described as a “shocking installment of the Resident Evil 7: biohazard saga where players discover what Zoe’s fate will be,” and where “players will face off against new enemies and explore new swamp-filled areas.” Owners of the original release will be able to purchase it for $14.99 / €14.99 / £11.99.

“Not a Hero” sees the return of veteran BSAA soldier Chris Redfield. It is set after the events that befell Ethan Winters in Resident Evil 7: biohazard, and “brings a brand new experience playing as Chris to face new threats not met in the main game.” Here’s the description: “As a member of New Umbrella, Chris and team quickly set up a strategy to counter this latest threat. Will Chris once again solve the mystery of this latest outbreak and make it out of the plantation’s dungeons alive?”

Capcom noted that nearly all content, including “End of Zoe” and “Not a Hero,” is playable in PlayStation VR on PlayStation 4.

No Slim deals until at least the 17th this year? Sony is pushing it, the Xbox S has been on sale since Saturday.

Sony knows the 1tb will probably sell through whatever stock they have even if it's only a week before xmas. Smart to push these Pro and VR units without slim stealing thunder.

A lot of people buy christmas gifts before the last week of the year, though. It would probably be smart to start before next Saturday, which is typically a HUGE sales day.

True, but a $199 PS4 doesn't just appeal to xmas shoppers...

Wow I really want GT Sport. PSVR bundle at that price is a steal but I do not have enough room in my tiny play area to accommodate VR otherwise I would definitely hop at this opportunity.
