Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WWE 2K18 for the Switch is the poorest running game I've ever played.

No one is saying that. It's not the same to sacrifice graphics, it obviously has to reach a minimum. Which is a playable, with a stable framerate game. And this is not the case.

Optimizing for Switch just wasnt in the budget I guess.

Given the PC releases Im kinda surprised it doesent scale better.

This is a current gen AAA game, that pushes a PS4.  To make this work on the switch would have taken work, and 2K doesn't do that for ports.  everyone needs to stop worrying about the Switch's capabilities.  Xenoblade runs fine, BOTW and Odyssey are the games of the year and run fine.  Look at Doom and Skyrim for goodness sake.  The Switch is not the problem.

Thats pretty messed up, unfortunately I feel as though the Switch will encounter a lot of issues with their ports. I know its not a port but I saw Xenoblade is running at a dynamic resolution that can drop to the 300P's I may pass on it because I know I will be pissed that the original wiiU version plays and looks much better. (30fps 720P)

The "Wii U version" is a totally different game (X vs. 2) and had its own set of limitations like more noticeable pop-in and no collision detection. Xenoblade 2 is a step up in visuals on the TV, it's just a little fugly at times on portable. Not at all unplayable.

In fact, I'm a PQ snob hoping for a patch but I'm still splitting my time with portable mode. On the TV, it occasionally will fool you that it's running at a higher resolution when it's not showing AA artifacts. In portable, it looks like an ambitious Vita game (which is underwhelming, but only ugly in the most taxing of situations).

To be honest, I'd rather they turned off the AA and sharpness filtering and just let the game run. I'd be okay with some steeped fps dips in portable, if the game set 480 or 540p as the low-end for dynamic resolution, rather than 360p.

This is what you get for not waiting for Nintendolife review D21. They don't even have a review up for the game yet.

I know. They ease the blow by calling me a lovely person and everything!

So, out of all the big mainline sports games that have come to the Switch, only NBA is free of problems. FIFA lacks half of the modes and is more expensive, and WWE apparently runs awfully.

Sports titles have a bright future on Switch! Yup.

Just for the record, I buy a ton of Switch games on day one. This is the first time I didn't really do any research and the first time I feel like I've been burned.

I loved Doom on the Switch. It got a bad rap from some but I think it's really impressive. I loved Skyrim, too. I liked it so much that I bought it for Xbox One when I never even cared for the franchise before. I think it's amazing that it runs on the Switch. The console is still great but this port. I don't know what else to say. It's bad, even by my potentially forgiving standards.

Stop being excited for things that aren't developed by Nintendo, d21. You got yourself into this mess.

Damn that sucks, I remember seeing all of your posts about being excited for this on the Switch. Hopefully they can patch the heck out of it.

I want this game but this thread made me decide to wait until a patch(if its patched)
