Forums - PC Discussion - Star Citizen hits 170 million in funding

It'll be the biggest disappointment, but also one of the most solid games the year it's released. Such a large game will surely have impossible expectations, so i'll choose to observe with a neutral viewpoint to not impact my run through it

Take your time. I got plenty to play. Will need a new pc when it comes out in 2024.

I really want to play this but they keep raking in the money and keep pushing the release further and further. I also fear that when it does release it is not going to be even close to what people were expecting.

This has to be a scam. I see a prettier version of no mans sky happening. There cant be this little progress after all this time and money.

It pretty much is considering its a MMO. :P

It's also coming with a full campaign side as well, starring actors like Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Gillian Anderson, Craig Fairbrass, and Mark Strong.

There hasn't been a game that's done a fully fleshed out Sp campaign, with big name actors, as well as an MMO side being added to the game, both acting separate from each other as well.

Looks to me like there is still no such game. Or if it ever will come.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Squadron 42 (or at least the first portion of it) is supposed to launch sooner than the MMO game.

Patience is a virtue.

It's foolhardy to go "give it now", when the game is still in development.

Promised to come out, or promised to start development?

It has been delayed a few times; I don't think it has a proper release date.

However, longer development isn't necessarily meaning that they're continually expanding and improving it. There could be things that are scrapped. Duke Nukem Forever for example had to be re-worked numberous times because they took so long to develop that it'd be behind and they'd have to develop it again.
