They can continue to do all they want, but unless they take first party development I will no longer take them seriously. And if anyone gets mad, there’s nothing wrong with what I said. Games have always been the selling point, not just more power. Nintendo and Sony doing a good job so far.

"Games have always been the selling point, not just more power."
For you.
And many best-selling titles are multi-plats, not exclusives and X1's library has a lot in common with the PS4's.

The thing is exclusives sell the brand, it pushes the brand forward. That's why Mario and Zelda are synonymous with Nintendo, just like Uncharted and Last of Us with Sony. Halo made Xbox, it was the reason people bought the system at one point. Exclusives aren't there for the sole reason of selling because if that was the point the game would go multiplat and that would logically boost earnings substantially, exclusives and famous ones put the brand on everybody's radar, and hence makes one system more sought than the other.
When one system has more exclusives and popular multiplat games to add to their lineup (sony) it makes the other less attractive and hence less bought. Therefore, games are the selling point of consoles, there is a reason the PS4 is more bought than the Xbox One even in the US, and that's games, gamers obviously want more games and PS4 has more games and not to mention that the exclusives are actually solid.
However, I do believe that the Xbox one X is the future of console gaming, it is the next logical step of gaming and that is 4K. 4K gaming is the future, the Xbox One X has the power to back it up and well... better textures than your competition never hurts.
More power = Better graphics and performance
The Xbox One X has made high-quality 4K (kinda (more pixels at least)) gaming mainstream, something which was reserved to a very small demographic in the PC space.
All we have to do is wait for 2018, that's when all of Microsoft's exclusives release.
