For Microsoft, comparing their exclusives to PS4's, it doesn't look good. I mean

Crackdown 3 vs. God of War? (really?)

State of Decay 2 vs Last of Us 2? (we know which is better)

Sea of Thieves vs Spiderman? (ooohh no contest)

We know which one looks cooler from the gameplay and trailers alone, so no contest at all. Halo 6 is all the Xbox has to revive itself right now. 

In my opinion, RDR2, Anthem and God of War alone will be overwhelming presences in gaming 2018 and I don't think the switch can compete with that, to truly reach a larger audience it needs shooters and western publishers to support it and it doesn't have that sort of support. 

You are forgetting that Nintendo is trying to get a Pokemon game out for the Switch by the end of 2018. If they can get it out by the end of 2018 and it will probably be the best selling console exclusive of they year. 

 

RDR2 will probably end as the they years best selling game period I aint disagreeing with that and I think God Of War is gonna do as well as Horizon did. But after Mass Effect Andromeda and Battlefront 2 I fully expect Anthem to fall flat on its face.

Anthem is interesting, wouldn't surprise me if its delayed (did it have a release date) so that they can take out loot boxes :D

Personally I am not investing in MMO/online type games any more... just don't have the time or effort... I guess there are still lots that do (as shown by the different online games doing well), but I think the bubble is bursting on some of these things.

Remember that part of December NPD will be last days of November, which were very strong for XB1.

I think this month is gonna be close again.

For 2018, it is gonna be most of the time NSW >>> PS4 >>> XB1 (With no stock issue anymore NSW will have a good margin over PS4 in normals months, expect if PS4 has games, pricedrops or something special in a month)
