Next event dedicated at tales of series will be held at december 16th, don't know but it smells like they would announce the next mainline entry...

Bandai Namco will host a Tales of series 22nd anniversary broadcast titled “Tales Room” on December 16 from 20:00 to 22:00 JST, Bandai Namco announced. It will be live streamed on YouTube, Niconico, and Periscope.

I hope so, and I hope Tales could top Tales of Vesperia, it has been a decade.

I honestly thought they had finally cancelled the series after all the duds and Hideo Baba departure.

Let's hope it's a return to better days.

By duds, do you include everything after Vesperia or everything after Symphonia (I encountered those that don't even give Vesperia a chance, due to it being on that other console.)

I hope the Switch is involved here.

After Vesperia. Actually i wish the announcement was a remaster of the PS3 version of Vesperia. That would make me happy.

I know some staunt apologists of the series will jump at me, but ever since the series just dropped massively in quality, and despite the sales peak with Xillia it has been declining with every installment. Nothing after Vesperia was good, and if they want to save the series, they need to take a long look at their better games (2D classics, Symphonia, Abyss and Vesperia) and realise what made them great. Spoilers: it was the pacing and 2D style combat.

I totally agree, I use to be rabid fan, downright say fanboy of tales series. However lately, it is one of those I will get when it is $20-30, and even that I only get half way, and have to motivate myself to finish. The pacing is really what has taken a hit, the first act is super slow, third act ends like 1 dungeon, combat has way too many draw backs and slow downs to a halt. 

Bandai Namco have already stated that they will work (or are working on, I can't remember the exact wording) a Tales of title for the Nintendo Switch.

So this will be the new game for Switch and PS4? Would love to get into this series on the go.

I REALLY hope they announce a Tales of Vesperia remaster for PS4/Switch. It sucks that the best version of the game is Japan-only and the only version the West got is stuck on the 360 ;_;
