We have a solid opportunity to gauge the lay of the land for the Switch software market on Friday. Xenoblade Chronicles X moved ~85k FW in Japan with approximately 2.3 Million units of Wii U hardware having been sold at the time. As of last week, the Switch has sold just under 2.4 Million units. 

The launch of XC2 should tell us a fair deal about just how much better the market is for software on the Switch than it was on the Wii U. We've have some rough equivalences in the past, but I feel like this is the closest to 1:1 match-up we've had so far (and maybe the best we'll get).

Anyone else feel the same way, or do you think the games are too different to tell? Any other reasons this match-up isn't as significant as it seems to me?

Given its style, it might appeal more in Japan. But i'll be impressed if the game sells >2 million worldwide.

I did my part at least. It should arrive by post on launch day .

This game should be the most successful in the series since it is arriving early in the life cycle of a successful console.

So, while waiting for the game arriving by tomorrow, do you think that we will see another xenoblade on the Switch? I think that could be possible.

It should perform better, it's an active 2.4 Million users for the Switch while I dare to say that the approximately the same userbase for the Wii U.. wasnt as active. Not to mention that the Switch is a more attractive platform to play on than the Switch so it should have better legs as well.

I think it will sell over 100k and hopefully, goes well beyond that.

We will see another Monolith game for sure, they searched for new employees earlier this year and it seemed like it was for another project than a Xeno game.

Wait, this website trakcs pre orders ww? I always see US and Japan preorders (mediacreate/etc), but I just assumed we didn't have a way to track pre order sales in places such as Russia/Madagascar/Venezeula/rest of the world.

But there's so much competition! Not just on the Switch but from other consoles as well. I'm nowhere near finishing Skyrim, Zelda DLC is coming soon, and I haven't even gotten all of the moons in Mario!

I believe we are gonna see another xeno game,but maybe not a xenoblade. They were hiring staff for a new fantasy title.it would be interesting if it was something more close to the dark tones of xenogears,i think(not that i don't love xenoblade too)
