Yes the reboot is pretty great on PS4. Just skip the original PS3 version. The ps4 version feels like a real dmc game since it has 60 FPS and the PS3 did not.

Yes. I played it on PS3 then on PC, it was really dope at 60FPS.

No course not. DMC4 Dante was different anyway from DMC3 Dante and even then Dante as a character has changed in every DMC game. So I'm not surprised when people liked Nero more than DMC4 Dante.
