As it is right now, Capcom just isn't investing in big AAA games anymore, they especially aren't with a game whose genre pretty much fizzled out through the years

I'd love a new Devil May Cry, but I ain't getting my hopes up yet.

But what if their funding is to get the game made for the fans? You want the fans to get a flop?

Bull shit. I can understand when it's smaller studios and lesser known IP like with Bayonetta or cuphead but there's no way Capcom can't afford to make stuff like street fighter, monster hunter and DMC on their own. Seems like they would have learned after street fighter but I guess Capcom needs to have 3 big games underperform for them to realize that banking off of Sony alone isn't smart.

Not sure if true but it was said a couple years ago Capcom only had a few hundred thousand dollars in the bank. So by that reasoning, it’s not hard to see why they approach Sony and Microsoft to help fund their recent games. However Marvel vs Capcom Infinite seems to have been made in house without any outside help judging by the low quality character and stage models.

They’ve done the same with ms and that zombie franchise. I think most of their big games this gen have been in collaboration with one of the three this gen.

Dead rising 4 also flopped, probably even more so than sf5. Yet here they are deep in another exclusivity deal even after they had 2 bombs. Now like a year and a half from now we're going to be talking about how mh world didn't do anywhere near mh4's numbers and dmc5 not doing as well as 4 on the PS3 and 360.

The PS4 had the weight to pull SFV on its own. The game itself was the problem, not platform exclusivity.

Most interesting part is Sony is funding. Uh Oh. SFV must have not taught Sony and Capcom anything.

I was interested until I read that Sony is paying to keep it off other platforms again. Hope it goes the way of sf5 and MVC specifically because of that.

 Bye

Anyway, all the things mentioned in the rumor sound really hyping. I really like the DMC games so I hope this one is as great as DMC3 or even better.

Though the description of it gives me a vibe of mix between DMC2 and DMC3 which is quite worrying and fascinating
