Europe still loves Playstation it seems.

It surprises me that the Switch sells only slightly better than the Xbox 1 in Europe.

The PS domination in Europe is impressive. Despite the Switch buzz, there's been a huge PS4 lead for weeks. Now there's a question : UK, FR and US ranking roughly show the same tastes in termes of software, so why is Switch slightly ahead of PS4 in the US whereas it can't even remotely compete in Europe?

Switch won October according to NPD.

- Snes Classic beat the PS4

- If  consumers see the Switch as a handheld. Maybe US likes handhelds more than EU.

- Maybe its very expensive in the EU compared to NA.

I don't know which european countries have their sales counted in "Europe" section but most of the eastern european is very pro-PS4 (and also UK) so those numbers do not surprise me.

I also know that there is a "Switch-hype" in France where the console sells very well

1/ Vita sold significantly better in EU than US, so no.

2/ 299$ on Amazon US, 292€ on Amazon France, so no.

The only explanation I see is that the US has a bigger percentage of Nintendo fans of its total gaming population than EU.

Xbox.

PS and Xbox have a very big overlap in terms of demographics. In Europe most of those people go PS, so it can easily outsell Switch. In the US however, it's much closer between PS/Xbox. So basically Xbox sales are taking away PS sales and therefore Switch can come out on top.

Yeah indeed no one wants to buy an Xbox here (I live in France so I can relate)

That's the exception, it's 319/329€ on Amazon Germany and more expensive in every european country. Even in other retailers in France it's +319€ so that's a discount for some reason.
