If you mean by 'revolution' the fact that religion got less important, and that society in general got better, then I agree.

If you're referring to the protestant revolution, then I must disagree. The only violence that the church had comitted in the late middle ages were the inquisition and witch burnings - but protestants started doing both of these as well.

The reformation prioritized improvement in society as you said. I think pushing for changes in the middle east is impossible as this point, meaning we'll be stuck with this for quite some time. Only hope is to accept the Muslims in western nations and hope the younger generation continues the trend of being less conservative/traditional

Although in may take some time, I think the Middle East will be fine. This terrorism is mostly a consequence of political problems in several of these countries (Assad in Syria, Mubarak in Egypt, ...), so it will probably cool down after a couple of years.

The issue is that Saudi Arabia is still the largest contributor to the spread of wahhabism. Unless we stop giving resources to Saudi Arabia, I don't see much improvement anytime soon

There are still problems with Iran and Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the mistreatment of foreign workers, huge income inequality, racial tensions, Sunni-Shia divide, etc. which makes me believe that it won't be short term.

Sad to see people killing eachother, especially over literally the stupidest reason imaginable.

Religions... enough said.

these militant groups are a result of political tension. religion is just used as an excuse for these terror acts.

and no need for anybody to disrespect anybody else's religious beliefs.

Christians, jews, muslims all worship the same god.

Its stupid all around, that some muslims go around killing others for how they choose to worship this god.

Islam the religion of peace.....

Why are there so many crazy muslims in this world? what is it that attracts the crazies? or about it that makes people crazy?

why is a muslim attacking muslims. seems like racist comment as we had many mass shooting in the us, and they weren't muslims.

That's terrible news. Muslims are at war with one another. In the West a lot think they just hate non Muslims these extremists, but in reality they often hate each other just as much.

Anyway can't wait for the day all our religions are considered mythology which they are. And I say can't wait because I'll be dead by then.

Religion has nothing to do with this.  These motherfuckers are crazy, end of story.  The religion didn't "make" them do it.  They did it on their own.

If you read a religious book, tome, scripture or whatever and it makes you suddenly want to go and murder hundreds of people, then you're already crazy.  The religion didn't make you crazy.  You're crazy already.

And besides, there are many violent shootings happening in the world (just look at America) that have nothing to do with religion.  How do you explain those?  You really think this world would be at peace if religion went away?

Jesus fucking christ. Middle East is a cesspool of conflict right now. Hoping for the best.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
