I honestly don't value a lot western reviewers scores for JRPGs. I mean, FFXV has almost the same score as XCX, which is laughable, since FFXV is pretty bad. But, well, if I have to guess, I'd say that XC2 would be in the 85-90 range.

Uhhhh....I don't think Japan likes Xeno much either. I mean, it sells well but it's not like famous for being amazing. I don't think a niche fanbase like Xenoblade's fanbase will ever trust any outsiders in reviewing their beloved games. And .. I don't even think they're necessarily wrong for that.  Same thing could be said about DS(if it wasn't for the fact that it's pretty big now)

As much as I don't like what I've seen, I know that i'll probably love the game and a lot of my complaints will become invalid once I pick it up. Just glad to see a big meaty Switch game(not that there isn't many). Looking for a bit something different. I really should play Xenoblade 1 first but ... eh

meh still getting this..I will put in hundreds of hours and probably not beat the game like I did the previous games

Nah, I'm not saying that they're wrong. Because they have their own opinion, of course, it's just that my opinion has nothing to do with the general one. Which is that the Xenoblade franchise is making JRPGs great again (jeez, I sound like Trump XD), and I don't think people value as much as they truly deserve. There are some exceptions (the SMT series is constantly great), but some of the most famous, best JRPGs franchises are now pretty bad. Final Fantasy is the first franchise that comes to my mind, I couldn't stand any game since FFX (Funnily enough, the game I found the most bearable was FFXIII XD).

Well IGN kind of stated the same thing with their original review for the game. But yeah, a majority of the big Xeno fans seem to be either Nintendo fans or hardcore JRPG enthusiasts.

I've tried getting into JRPGS and had a hard time doing so, even though I have a decent amount of them on my shelfs. They seem to be really long and have terrible beginnings. The only one I really liked was FF7 but I never finished it because of the stupid Keyboard controls   I'm not including games like Fire Emblem or Etrian though, those are great.

I'll still probably get XC2 though, I wonder if it will be the first JRPG I ever get through

Yeah, it's one of my favourite videogame genres, but I really understand that some people might find hard to get into them. I agree that they usually tend to start slow, but they're normally pretty long games so I don't find the pace tiresome at all. That's a generalization though, there're a lot of JRPGs which I found tedious and bland. I wouldn't say that Xenoblade games are the most accessible for people who normally dislike this genre, but they're pretty different from the standard JRPG. Have you tried the first Xeno game? I guess that this one will be similar to the first one in the franchise.
