Call on curl-6 to talk about the impressive performance of Fast RMX and how much Shinen can get out of the console or whatever (well, he isn't wrong).

You know me so well. ^_^

To be fair, while FRMX and Shin'en do deserve props for technical excellence, it should also be noted that we shouldn't interpret the list as a gospel on which games are the most advanced; some games can be demanding through lack of optimization; I mean, no way Monopoly is more advanced than Doom! XD

Disgaea 5 being at the top makes me giggle. It was so low-spec for a retail PS4 title that a linear Switch port was easily possible, and even then it's so far from the Switch's own limits that it's laughing all the way to the battery bank.

No disrespect to Disgaea 5, it's a great game. I just enjoy how little of a graphical fuck it gives. It's a fancy PS2 game that snuck onto the PS4 and Switch

I know, but I was basing myself on the assumption that you wouldn't say Shin'en is poor at optimizing their games.

You assumed correctly, cos they ain't. ;)

Less than 200 minutes on the more graphically demanding games. I'm definitely going to wait on the first redesign unless I see a killer deal before then. Simply using Tegra X2 instead of Tegra X1 would boost the battery life by at least 50% I think.

I am waiting on a "TV" version of the Switch that ditches all the extra baggage like screen, battery, joycons, dock and so on.

If that never happens... Then the next best thing for me would be a Tegra X2 powered device, double the battery capacity... But I would also like at-least a 7" 1440P display. - Should be able to get 5 hours easy with such a kit, won't have to rely on battery banks that way.

Dunno about 1440p, but I could definitely see them releasing a 1080p version in a few years that let's you play the games in docked spec mode even when not docked.

1440P is a quadrupling of the 720P panel in the switch.
So everything would scale upwards nicely and cleanly.

Interesting.

That's kinda a ridiculous thing about the Switch's function as a portable, the life of it varies widely depending on the game. It can be rather long or a bit short, so you kinda gotta pick your game wisely if you don't want it to drain quickly.
