Forums - Gaming Discussion - CD Projekt Red "we leave greed to others"

Fuck you EA.

well after i got that out of the way, here is what CDPR, the best developers in the world (sorry Rockstar!) had to say as "games as a service".

forgive me if the link to twitter doesnt work, not sure how make them work on this site.

I love them! Cant wait to see more of Cyberpunk.

Fuck EA!

Oh they are greedy alright. But they are smart enough not to piss off their customers, so they milk their employees instead.

Meh, all game companies are in it for the $$$. Some are just more subtle about it than others.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Pretty cool company, yesterday snapped up W2 and W3 GOTY for around £15.
Needed something to challenge my Vega 64.

I'm sick of this developer cult. All this does is breed yet another shit show that will exploit their consumer's good will.

Remember the cult around Valve and Blizzard? Yeah, one of them is now openly giving a platform to scammers and the other one is officially crowned king of loot boxes.

In this day and age nothing any developer ever says should be taken at face value.

You can't deny that this is an effective use of a social media platform to provide good PR and recognition at effectively zero cost (since they are not bound to it by contract), though.

Effing THIS. Spot on.

I'm very wary of fandoms getting too passionate about certain developers, because those fandoms often end up failing to hold developers or publishers to account when they start making bad decisions.

This. CDPR also is very young company so it is hard to predict what we should expect from them when they will rise to the same level as the so called greedy giants like EA or Activision. Both of them also made some great games in their early years.

Absolutely true. I'm just saying that people shouldn't confuse PR statements with anything resembling the truth.

There are no checks and balances in place to hold PR people accountable for false statements so they will say anything if it makes them look good at that very moment.
