Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon sold a collective 1,199,814 copies during their first three days of release in Japan, according to the latest Famitsu numbers.

The number includes both download card and Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon bundle sales, but does not include download sales.

3DS family hardware sold 40,582 units during the week Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon launched, which is more than double the previous week’s 18,687 units. That number includes sales of New 3DS, New 3DS LL, 2DS, and New 2DS LL.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon launched worldwide on November 17.

So 2mil is a lock. It did above every1 expectations

Pretty high. Wonder what it's official sales will be when all is said and done. I'm predicting 7 million. 

This game is surpassing everyone's expectations in terms of both sales and reviews. The haters lost.

I am really excited for Pokemon Switch..

Not bad, though 2nd version pokemon games mostly sell between 2 to 3 mil, so Ultra Sun and Moon have some work to do sales wise. These games will likely have legs though to reach those numbers.

It's the 2nd best selling "third" version launch aligned in Japan, only being beat by Pokemon Yellow(which sold about as well as normal Pokemon games now do). It's only third if you count Black and White 2 as a "third" version and not as their own games. 

Does this count each sale of the double pack as 2 sales?

Did 1.2m people buy both sun and moon?

Great. The sales didn't drop off nearly as much I thought it would. For reference, ORAS sold 1.3M fw if I'm not mistaken.
