Forums - Politics Discussion - Robert Mugabe resigns as President of Zimbabwe.

The great Robert Mugabe served 37 years as President of Zimbabwe and he was well loved by fans and hated by his vocal critics alike. Let's hope he enjoys his retirement. He was a controversial leader seizing power by a military coup in 1980 and he reigned over Zimbabwe with an iron fist, crushing political opposition that stood in his way. An elderly man at 93, his time as leader has now come to an end. Farewell Bob!

Old fuck should've died 30 years ago. Absolutely ruined Zimbabwes economy. Hope new leadership can bring the nation back on track.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

From what I've read people aren't exactly thrilled about the former Vice President and man who may be taking over, but Mugabe's departure is a few decades overdue.

Make zimbabwe Rhodesia again!

lmfao, right? But I don't think the situation is going to get much better. His wife is probably going to get back into power.

Haven't seen excitement of that level since the Twilight Princess reveal. Some interesting events transpiring in 2017.

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

About time. That said, I don't expect the situation to improve very much.

It hardly matters at this point. Nothing will save Zimbabwe now.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Kicking his ass out is just half of the fight. The other half is establishing a democracy and maintaining it. Though kudos to them for ousting him without turning it into a bloodbath.

His likely successors don't look to be an improvement.
