Forums - Nintendo Discussion - FIFA 18's ads don't feature the Switch version?

So I just realized that some FIFA 18 ads online don't show the Switch version. Is this just the exception, or do all online ads ignore the Switch version?

By the way, I made this thread earlier and the thing kinda... broke.

Unlike Bethesda, who has come out of the gate strong as a new partner, EA is back to their Wii U tactics. I honestly think they are diametrically opposed to Nintendo's approach to the business.

We're talking about a company that cranks out Battlefields and Battlefronts full of pay-to-win and a company that went one time buy on their biggest mobile app because they felt like freemium wasn't good for the consumer.

I thought EA made it clear that the FIFA18 Switch game was completely different and customized especially for the Switch. Makes sense to not mix it in with the normie versions.

But by doing so, they make people think that the Switch has no FIFA, which is untrue. And it's not like EA doesn't have the gall of just making people think the Switch version is the same value that the other (remember those quotes saying FIFA and Zelda BotW would be the two must-buy games for the Switch?).

This makes sense to me. EA is not really invested in Switch, and FIFA on Switch is a cheap and safe little extra $$$ for them. Why would you spend advertising budget on the Switch version when 99% of your revenue comes from the other platforms? It's a sound business decision.

Sure, EA could have been more invested in Switch, like Bethesda. They could have made a better FIFA game and promoted it as such. That would net them more sales and perhaps also more profit. But they just won't take that risk.

Meanwhile, EA buys a mobile studio that made one-time-buy games and forced them to change to freemium (real racing 3)

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Isn't the Switch port known as FIFA 18: Legacy Edition? I guess that why you don't see the PS3 and Xbox360 versions either.

Does it really cost extra to show the Switch box art alongside the other ones though?

It will probably cost them a lot if they place that box art without a giant disclaimer that it's not as feature complete as the other depicted versions.

But yeah, I also don't know why this os a thread.

It's because EA hates Nintendo and can't help themselves. OP, you should already know this.
