Reservoir dogs >>>> pulp fiction

Django Unchained >>>> life

kinda have to agree haha

This is the kind of director I want to get into but kind of have a hard time doing so. Pulp Fiction I've seen like 3 times yet my opinions on it after walking away from the movie is always "meh". Which is funny because when I'm watching it, it's great, but afterwards I don't see why it's a classic.

Resevoir Dogs was good, Jackie Brown I need to rewatch. I really liked Hateful Eight, probably my favorite film from him. And Inglorious Bastards bored me.

Overall he seems very meh but I do want to see his other stuff.

Hmm 2020 before the blu-ray comes out in that case, nothing in between?

Wow, what a coincidence, considering that Charles Manson just died.

Maybe Tarantino killed him?

What an interesting marketing ploy!

Tarantino meh? lol

Pulp fiction is one of the most grounbreaking movies of history of cinema, an explosion of style.

The hateful 8 is good but is easily his worst movie

The movie has one of the best and most original screenplays ever done in cinema, a perfect casting, tons of memorable scenes, a unique personality, an extremelly memorable soundtrack and a masterful direction. I'm sorry but as someone that works on this the "is just a matter of opinions" kind of rubs me the wrong way, yes there are no objective facts when it comes to cinema, but Pulp Fiction being a colossal masterpiece is as close as a fact as it can be, this "everything is only subjective" mentality leads people to never evolve their taste and hability to appreciate cinema, if you think pulp Fiction is meh, I'm sorry but you are just wrong, same when saying that a guy that directed so many huge movies and which skills as a great director are so fucking evident is just a "meh" director, is just wrong, you may not like them, but that shouldn't make you unable to see its obvious virtues.

I'm really not going to argue with you about this, sorry to disappoint.

It's fine, it doesn't disapoint me.

Actually, yes I will. I'll be honest, I did write two different responses and erased them both.  And that's because I don't know what to tell you. It is quite annoying that you, quite often, make these "your opinion is objectively wrong!" kind of comments. I've seen them before on the site, some directed at me, I even saw it on your wall with Azure. I don't think you understand the irony in saying that film perception is just an opinion, and then going on to say an opinion is definitively wrong. That being said, I can also understand the perspective. I have probably said that before about something, and some day in the heat of a disagreement I'll probably say it again. It's an easy mentality to top when you are so secure in your opinion about how great something is.

If you notice my original comment was not bashing the director and it seems you read it, but decided to ignore any positivity it had. I said in it that Pulp Fiction is great, but after watching it I feel like it is rather "meh". That is not me saying it is a definitively "meh" film, just that it feels that way afterwards. I liked Reservoir Dogs too and loved Hateful Eight. That's 3/5 of the films I've seen from him, and your response is to get triggered that I had an opinion. I really don't mean this in a rude way but, I do not see how you could read your last reply and not think that there was a better way to communicate it when it basically amounted to your average cliche hipster elitist response.

You even edited your comment to say " same when saying that a guy that directed so many huge movies and which skills as a great director are so fucking evident is just a "meh" director, is just wrong, you may not like them, but that shouldn't make you unable to see its obvious virtues." Which is funny, because I literally said that I wanted to get into the director more and finish his discography. Why would I do that if I do not see the "virtues" in his films? I don't think he's a meh director by the way, the films I've seen from his discography just left me unimpressed. I've seen Pulp Fiction three times, so it is not like I am not genuinely trying. All I can say is that I hope I like his work more in the future, I would certainly described most of what I've seen as "good", but that's it. I really don't know what you want from me other than for me to say, I'll give it another go(even though I've seen Pulp 3 times)?
