Here is the good news.

This is a huge holiday week and Justice League will me another 90 to 120 million by next Monday morning domestic. My prediction.

Coco is the only big movie out until December 15th! That's right, Star Wars 20 or 30 or whichever it is comes out that day. Nothing else will really compete for the same audience until then.

WoM is higher than BvS. Whether you liked the film or not you cannot deny it's Cinema score which is a B+.

When the final Tally comes in a few months WB may just not fire horrible Zack Snyder like most think. Still probably will, but at least the end total will surprise some.

Thor is still in theaters.  It likely won't dethrone JL for the number one slot on any given week, but it's still a new superhero movie that has a lot of positive buzz.  I think it will take some of the wind out of JL's sails, and then Star Wars will sink them both.  The League is in a really tough spot, which is a shame.  I kinda wanted to see what my big brother Ronon has been up to on Atlantis, and Justice League might weaken enthusiasm for his movie.

I think after this, Warner will opt to reboot the dceu and start from scratch or simply give up and focus on their most profitable characters such as Batman and Superman and call it a day. Warner has been losing a lot of money as of late, including Ben affleck’s gangster movie several months ago which bombed big time and lost a ton of money.

I don’t think they’ve been losing money on these movies.

It was actually a pretty decent film. As a comic book fan, it was one hell of an improvement and a good direction. Fortunately, the international box office seems more healthy. They are now correct on their versions of most heroes. Finally Superman acts like Superman. Cyborg was pretty great and the Flash worked as a mix between Barry Allen and Wally West. I also do like that DC is having their heroes show power levels more on par with the comics, I was never a big fan of Marvel basically stripping them of all their powers.

I still don't get why people like to make this separations between the US and the rest of the world. I know the US is the biggest film market, but it really doesn't matter that much from where the money is coming. If a film did 0 on the US and 1B worldwide would it be a failure?

In comparison, I saw Thor Ragnarok as a terrible film, since they simply s*** on everything Thor has on the comic book and create a satirical version of a great character. Marvel has a tendency these days of making their heroes look like big goofs. Thor acts as a man-child even if he is a god with thousands of years that should know better. They are also going waaaay too much in a comical direction. It's joke after joke, it jus looks like all those heroes are just f**** around while the world is at risk. I guess this is the kind of formula that guarantees a 90% RT score and a good box office, but it's completely disrespectful with the work of genius like Jack Kirby,

Last year’s warner bros. Ben affleck movie live by night lost a lot. Not sure on their super hero movies.

Have to search more later. But it’s probably why he’s no longer directing the future Batman movie.

Heres an interesting link showing how bvs compared with other super hero movies earnings. https://www.comicbookmovie.com/batman_vs_superman/batman-v-superman-final-profits-tallied-how-much-did-it-really-earn-a149858

The sequels always pay for the movie that came first. I always think about how Transformers 2 did gangbusters on the back of the good will from the first movie, then when everyone realized that one was horrible, the third movie got dinged at the box office.

BvS word of mouth is what caused this, not to mention Snyder's pedigree. Those are the two big reasons I didn't see it this week, but I will eventually.

So you see, BvS made a profit. More than that, this does not include the promotional deals and product placement (I can’t find the link now but it was upwards of 100M) and doesn’t include merchandising.

And according to Deadline, Suicide Squad made $158.45 in profit:

Outside of Batman, and even then that's an anomaly, DC movies suck.

Good to see for once. I can't stand these movies.

How many of these super heroe blockbuster movies are going to flood the theaters before people have enough of them? It feels like 80% of the big budget movies are stupid super heroes movies who are almost all equally poor and are among the lowest levels movies can reach.

A real, good movie is the Godfather, not Hulk vs Spiderman.

Lol u mad? They gonna keep coming whether you like it or not.

Not if everybody stops going to them.

I'm pretty sure Zack Snyder is not coming back, or if he is it'll be some smaller role such as an assistant writer or creative consultant. Just the fact that Warner Bros. demanded that $25 million in reshoots for Justice League says it all. Not to mention Zack Snyder doesn't seem to be involved in any upcoming DCEU film to date. Man of Steel 2 was sort of announced and Zack Snyder's name has not even been mentioned. Warner Bros. have been reaching out to other potential directors. I honestly think that if Matt Reeves can pull off his vision for Batman as a film noir detective story that has a Hitchcock influence, then he gonna be Warner's new go-to director.
