I said it before a while ago, but Warner Bros and DC really should have just taken the time to properly introduce the characters and set up their universe with solo films and such before jumping to the team-up movie already.

They probably saw the amount of money the Avengers movies were making and wanted that so badly that they rushed to Justice League without doing any of the work that Marvel did to make Avengers that huge and get to that point in the first place. Marvel took years to set up the universe they were building and establish all the characters to make people care about them, which made the first Avengers even that more exciting and that big of a deal. It felt like a huge payoff  after years of build up towards it.

last time i was in cinema was ep7. before that, i was 2 / month.

i got hd / bluray / sound system and buy when its in 4 for 30 at amazon. never looked back.

i skip the superhero phase entirely.

This isn't a disappoint, it should be heralded as a huge success. They managed to recover 100 million even though what they produced was a steaming turd, it certainly didn't deserve to make that much.

Disappointing that this is the movie that they fail with when it is the best one. On the bright side, the hold looks to be better than BvS and SS.

Box office mojo thought it would hit 93 million, so that is good. 100 plus million is never something to ignore. Sadly their budget was crazy.

That is their revised prediction.  Originally, everyone thought it would at least hit $110M+, with quite a few thinking it would open at least as big as Thor.  Which makes sense, since this is DC's version of the Avengers.

@ OP

This isn't the worst result, of course, but in context it is a godawful return.  The standalone WW movie did $7M more, while the recent Thor movie opened $27M higher.  Of course, we shouldn't even be comparing it to those movies.  This is DC's Avengers movie, after all.  That movie opened with over $200M in one weekend.  It did $1.5B+ WW when its run was over.  Justice League's probably only going to do half of that, which is pathetic, since so is the standalone Thor movie.  DC just can't throw enough money at these lackluster movies to get them above $900M.

Personally, for me the lack of passion shows through.  And the mainstream audiences are starting to see it, too.  It's just so obvious that DC is rushing to catch up with Marvel, but in doing so, they are putting out an inferior product.  This image kind of says it all to me.

GREAT! Maybe DC will finally learn!

The only Superhero movies I've been interested in since The Dark Knight Returns as a non-super hero fan have been Logan and Thor Ragnarok(because wow, that trailer was fantastic).

I just can't stand how bland the Marvel movies seem, and I don't want to go to DC movies because they always get bad marks. Logan was amazing though. I still need to watch Ragnarok and Winter Soldier

Hopefully the market revitalizes with creativity, and we can get actual innovative films, like The God Father 4, Pulp Fiction 2, Priscilla Queen of the Next Desert, and Trainspotting 3.

Yeah, I think that image basically sums up my feeling about the DCEU as a whole. They feel like they're in a rush (except for Wonder Woman, which felt like a standalone film to introduce a character, and guess what? It worked! XD).

I don't think it will flop but it will underperform. Honestly I am glad about this. I despise the DCU and will not support them in destroying these characters. It looks like others are catching on.

"Innovative"

Thanks for explaining the point of that comment, Mzuzek.
