Forums - Gaming Discussion - Apparently, Nioh sucks on PC because no mouse and keyboard support?

Some review outlets are complaining that Nioh Complete edition doesn't have mouse and keyboard support.

Wut? How would you even play a hack n' slash with mouse and keyboard? IMO that's like complaining that your favorite RTS doesn't have controller support. That's like giving an upper class steak restaurant zero stars because it doesn't have ketchup.

Oh well. Pearls before Swine I guess.

That probably happens a lot.

I have no issues with games requiring a gamepad, but I've not played Nioh so couldn't say if M/KB wouldn't be a good control scheme.

"I ordered my steak well done. My friend ordered his medium rare (gross). It took SOOOO long for our food to get her. I was waiting for almost 20 min. Worst of all they didn't even have ketcup! They had A1 and Worchestersire scauce. Ew is this a bar or a restrant? 0/5 Stars" - Every Yelp Review Ever

Nothing to see here, just a vocal minority. Most reviews are quite positive (and most of the negative reviews complain about glitches & bugs, not about the missing mouse support):

I haven't played Nioh yet, but if the control scheme is anything like in Dark Souls using mouse and keyboard would be awful as far as I'm concerned.

It ought to work. I've played the demo of Dynasty Warriors 6 using keyboard and maybe mouse, and it was OK. It wasn't great, but it worked. Not supporting keyboard and mouse on PC is just lazy, which seems to be KT's general attitude on PC: As far as I know, most of their ports are very lazy.

Also, how would you feel like if a game didn't support a controller on consoles? If it required an external peripheral to play, and that peripheral didn't even come with the game? It's not exactly the same, but it should give some idea about what's wrong here.

People just being dumb. Next they complain about RTS like Starcraft don't have pad support.

Hunting Season is done...

What kind of sadist would want to play a Souls-like with KB/M?

I somewhat understand that decision. If I bought a Wii U game, put it in and it told me "Sorry, you can't play with the Wii U gamepad" I would be a bit miffed. This is the standard controller for the system. It should work. Sure, have something which says "this game was designed for a gamepad", but if you are on a system, you should support that system's default controller.
