Metroid would be a good start, but for me it's going to be hard to top a year that saw the pinnacle in both Mario and Zelda games released in it.

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

What excites me about 2018 is that Nintendo was confident to push out a new Zelda (even though I personally hated it), a direct sequel to Splatoon, their most successful new IP in probably over a decade, a new mainline Mario along with a enhanced Mario Kart port, a Xenoblade sequel, a Fire Emblem Warriors game, a high-profile Mario crossover title and a brand new IP in Arms.

They pushed all this out in 9 months, and them not holding any of it back for next year makes me very hopeful that they've got a very strong lineup coming our way.

Thats a good point, Nintendo has never been against delaying a game to try filling in a dry period so if they didnt have much lined up for 2018 than Xenoblade at the least would likely have been pushed back.

I just hope that Retro's project is a true successor to Donkey Kong 64, as Odyssey was to Mario 64. I waited 20 years to buy a Nintendo console, just waiting for these sequals, so far I am extreamly pleased with SMO, making it two for two on Switch would easily make it one of my favorite systems of all time. For me, anything beyond SMO and a DK64 Successor is pure icing.

If they introduce a reward system and virtual console next year to go with the paid network service, I will also be extreamly pleased. Mario 64 and DK64 with trophies would be just as big for me, as anything else they could do.

Personally I have no interest in Switch 3rd party Multi-Plat titles. Remote Play with Vita gives me a better quality version on the go. I hope for more stuff like Mario x Rabbids, unique Switch only experiences..

ugh, I hated Donkey Kong 64. Such hype around it when it came out and then it was just a huge letdown. The 2D Donkey Kong games have always been way way better. DK just doesn't work in 3D

A lot of this seems like wishful thinking. I have my doubts as to whether some of these will release anytime soon, or are even a real possibility to begin with.

There's not much info to go with to determine how next year's line up will be.

Thats a bit harsh, there has only been 1 attempt at it.

pokemon by christmas and fe without two versions is all i ask

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

Not sure why you would want Pikmin 3 over 4

and 3D Land over 3D World

I'm not too hopeful, but as long as 2018 is good enough, then that's fine. Hopefully Rune Factory 5, DQ XI and the Tales game.

You forgot about those 3 Bandai Namco's exclusive titles and Ace Attorney, 3rd party looking good for 2018.

Not going to lie, that list doesn't really suggest it's going to be a stellar year, unless more titles and heavy hitters are announced for release within 2018 I'm going to guess that 2018 will be a slump year while major titles are being worked on, followed up by a much better year in 2019.

Like I said though, only going off the currently confirmed releases (assuming non are delayed into 2019) it would easily change it some bigger titles get announced for 2018 and actually hit in 2018
