The bow feels like cheating once you get the hang of it. I can now rapid fire arrows faster than turning lol. With the stagger perk they can't even hit back while firing 5 arrows per second. Giants and dragons beware.

Lvl 31 now, xp is slowing down and I really need to go back to town to sell, not that any shopkeeper can afford a fraction of all the high end loot it's diluted down to. Yet I can't pass up exploring anything I pass by. I adopted a child recently and just got the Boethia's calling quest, 1+1 = 0, follow me little one.
Being a werewolf is kinda weird in VR, you get two giant werewolf hands yet the most efficient way to use them is to paw enemies like a kitty.
The decapitating perk is kinda disturbing in VR, especially with the silly delay between hitting them and the head popping off like a champagne cork. Must be a delay of that sudden blood pressure wave from stabbing them in the knee.

Well I've been hitting vr world's since my last post, and my gods does it show the tech off, there's a ways to go before I think the system will work properly for mega rpgs, but wow, I will definitely grab some of those other games, and thanks for the pointers.

This is a first use of the wii moment, getting new gaming styles always blows me away.

And it's the first time I've ever got my fiancee to play the ps4, and she loved it (worlds) which vastly improves my thoughts on the costs :)

I have a standard ps4, won't upgrade to the pro, as a rule I hate mid lifespan upgrades, and won't buy them out of principle.

If I miss games as a result so be it, they should be releasing the upgrades as new systems should they be required for future games, kinda 3ds/new 3ds situation.

And as a whole graphics don't bother me, entertainment does, and this is the first time the Playstation has matched a Nintendo console for some time!

Anyway I'll stop hijacking the thread with my newb VR experiences, thanks for the help everyone, really really appreciate it.

I enjoy reading your newb VR experiences.

Exchanged my copy of Skyrim VR for Skyrim Switch at target.

Pros
Hella cool to feel as though you're in the world and to actually see all of the games elements up close.
Archery (the main way I wanted to play) was actually really cool. I had an easier time with archery in Move than I do with motion controls on switch (the motion controller just make it harder to aim, other than that, it's the tradition experience like any other controller).

Cons
Really hated the teleportation movement method in this game,
Direct movement makes me almost want to puke in under 30 minutes (a drop in the bucket for the amount of time you can sink into skyrim,
Because of the move controller's input methods I can't use my bow or shield and move at the same time.
1 handed weapons with the move controllers just suck.
It's ugly. Really ugly.

I've had Skyrim Switch for 1 day, and Skyrim VR for 3 days. I've already sunk 4 times the amount of hours into the Switch version.

Are you new to VR? Most people need some times to get used to it before beeing able to play games with free movement.

I own the PSVR scince launch so motion sickness isnt a problem anymore for me, so I wouldnt play Skyrim (or any other big RPG) on a flat screen anymore. If Elder Scrolls 6 wont support VR, I dont think i would play it at all. Not even sure if I will have fun with the new Zelda DLC after havin played skyrim for some dozen hours in vr

Yes. Had it for less than two weeks. How long does the adjustment time take?

I am soooo jealous of you guys.  I don't think I will be able to sink my teeth into true VR until december next year.  You know, money issues and stuff.

It depends how much you play and Skyrim isn't the best game to start with. In the beginning Windlands was the game that made me sick, as well as Super stardust VR arena, yet after a few more times and remembering to look where I'm going I had no further issues. I've been playing VR for over a year now and just did another 5 hours of Skyrim yesterday, indeed 30 minutes isn't worth starting the game for, and teleportation is the suck.

I started with Rez Infinite and Wayward sky, Robinson the Journey, Bound and DC VR. RE7 is probably better to play before Skyrim as you generally move a lot slower and with the DS4 you have control over your movement speed, unlike the on/off behavior with Skyrim. You can however also use the DS4 in your left hand with Skyrim (after starting the game with move) and use that for analog movement. You're pretty much limited to 2-hand or non directional magic in your off hand, yet maybe also blocking with a shield if you uncheck realistic shield grip.

You could also try the Solus project to get used to the movement. The teleportation there is much better and then you can start getting used to full movement without worrying about combat and running away. Solus project is about exploration and survival. In the Solus project you can hold the DS4 in your right hand for analog turning so you can control the turn rate if that makes you feel ill.

Nope.

I will not replace what i need to do with a movement of the analog stick with a contraption on my head. It's just never gonna happen.

I see. Perhaps I'll give this another shot with Fallout VR.
